So I received the "your request for merit funding has been received" e-mail on 2/15 and have still not heard back. They said they'd be in touch within a few weeks. Time to contact them again?

I had my nyc interview on the 28th and heard back through post with an acceptance on the 6thSteelPenguin wrote:Mind if i ask who you were? I was nervous at first, but I've gotten pretty excited about it in the past couple of days. My numbers aren't great for Georgetown, but I'm glad they're giving me a chance to prove myself and potentially earn an admission. At the very least, if I'm rejected, I'll know I gave it my best effort.
Also, the general consensus on group interviews is that after the interview, a decision will be made within a couple of days, right?
What were your thoughts on it? I was happy with most of my answers, just wish i didn't play it safe on that final lightning round with scenario 3.

Hey this is Ralph, I was the leader for one of the groups for the 3 pm interview in the grey sports jacket . I think the whole interview went really well for everyone especially since the groups jived well together. I'm hoping it gets me off the waitlist.SteelPenguin wrote:Mind if i ask who you were? Exact same situation here. Got back to me on 2/19 and haven't heard anything since. I e-mailed them asking for an update on Tuesday and still haven't gotten a response.dsn32 wrote:So I received the "your request for merit funding has been received" e-mail on 2/15 and have still not heard back. I'm starting to lose faith in GULC as a viable option.kraffcook wrote:Exact same situation here. Got back to me on 2/19 and haven't heard anything since. After thanking an adcomm at a peer school for all of the help they've been able to give me during the cycle, they basically said that it's their job to be on top of things, make sure I feel comfortable investing in their degree, and to provide excellent service to their students and admitted students. I just don't see this with GULC. That is alarming.

As awful as the Admissions process has been, once its said and done and I have all the info I need, I don't think it'll affect my decision too much. You can't judge a school based on their Admissions Department; it's not like we'll have to deal with them anymore once we're there.dsn32 wrote:I'm starting to lose faith in GULC as a viable option.kraffcook wrote:Exact same situation here. Other than the scholarship mess has anyone had any problems with admission or the school? They are the only T14 I applied. Of the schools I applied to Georgetown and Gonzaga (the regional I'l like to be long term) stood at as communicative, efficient and polite.

Not at all. My interactions with them have all been positive. I really like Dean Cornblatt. (I did a group interview and met him again at the January ASW). I wasn't too terribly annoyed by the scholarship process (although the quick deadline for the 150-word essay was a little rough), but I guess my results may color my impression on that.jone7007 wrote:Other than the scholarship mess has anyone had any problems with admission or the school? Speaking of scholarships... Has anyone tried negotiating with GULC? Any idea from past years if they are open to it? Since I replied to the first merit scholarship email re: $ and offers, I've gotten another significant offer (full at UCLA). I'm sure they wouldn't match it but wondering if there's any chance I could get GULC to bump their offer of $20K per year up at all.

Does anyone have any idea on when we may hear back on how much need based financial aid we received?

Did anyone who was contacted for an alumni interview last week hear back about it? I replied back either the day of or the day after but haven't heard anything.

Hi everyone, I've been reading the posts here but didn't have much to contribute till now.
Just got an email from Dean Cornblatt - IN! Sort of in shock since they don't do it by email, but our area reception is coming up soon, so I guess they decided to let us know in time.

I replied almost immediately, and have not heard anything back yet either. Others ITT have reported it took a few weeks for the alumnus to get in touch.fallingup wrote:Did anyone who was contacted for an alumni interview last week hear back about it? Thanks guys! Found out via email that said smtn along the line of "I can't tell you you're in, but there's an admitted student reception on Thursday i'd love to see you at."stone_fox wrote:Nice! I had just had a group interview this past friday with the dean so I'm betting that had something to do with it. I wouldn't say my numbers are YP worthy, but they were definitely competitive at GULC

There's a decent chance I'll be getting a decision in the next hour or so, and I don't know what to do with myself. Instead of being productive, I'm just frozen at my computer.
