finally went complete today (applied 1/15). but not getting my hopes up (167/3.69).

Michigan 1L here. My buddy is 3.6/169 and he's here. Have hope man. Have hope.

I'm a 3.6/169 who can't get any love from Michigan. Sitting on a 10/8 complete date and starting to lose hope.

I have some pretty comparable acceptances and scholarship offers as well so I know there isn't something glaringly wrong with my application. LSN would seem to indicate I'm close to auto-admit territory for Michigan this cycle...

Not to be a schmuck but did you expect money? I have similar numbers and that's why I ask... I mean I'm hoping for any t10 and I'll pay sticker. I knew that going in though.

Wasn't necessarily expecting money but seeing how this cycle is going in general, I thought it was a realistic possibility.

I interpret the cycle as schools are more desperate and thus letting in lower numbers HOWEVER they are trying to get them to pay sticker and allocating money that would usually be spread down with lower # people to the people they are trying to snag from HYS etc..

I'm expecting a massive reallocation of scholarship funds in late March/April/after the first deposit deadline for Michigan and UVA, as people with those big schollies leave them for HYS or CCN.

Do we know for sure that schools do this though (t14)? I heard someone say that they send out x number of schollies and assume that 1/4 or so won't take them. IE they over budget their schollies to people that they know prolly won't take them. Then they sit on the money 'til when it comes back in...

J/k. But seriously if Michigan is worth sticker then so are some schools ranked less than 10. That distinction is meaningless.

As for number complaining there are people with even higher numbers than those mentioned that have been Forgotten. Surprising to me considering the drop in apps but must be a method to their madness.

Hmmm idk if this is true or not, but UVA, for instance, says somewhere in their admissions packet that additional awards will become available in March/April if funds "become available". I always assumed that it was always a question of whether they are under-budget or over-budget come March/April and/or the deposit deadline. I figured that schools always err on the safer side with their scholarship formulas, and that these formulas are never close to being correct especially in a down cycle.

Would love to hear opinions to the contrary though.
