Turning down gulc scholly (deadline april 1) for a chance at Penn. Any way to spin this into a LOCI? I feel like it'd be a little awkward and maybe desperate: "hey just so you know I turned down a good offer so please accept me".

I don't think you have to turn down GULC if you haven't heard back from Penn.
Dean Asha from Yale wrote that you can accept a scholarship withoutwithdrawing from any pending applications.
Cant find the link but it's on the 203 blog and quoted several times on TLS.

Yeah. GULC's the best school I've been admitted to so far, so I'm gonna make that deposit, withdraw from the waitlists/schools that have accepted me. Still have a few schools pending that I'm gonna wait on.

Hm my schollys different i guess. Seat deposit waived but i need to send a letter that says i will attend.

Do you think we'll see movement tomorrow? I may be wrong but seems like the last group to hear back from Penn were UR2 2/13. I'm UR2 2/22 so I'm hoping to hear something :/

I think Penn's ASW is happening today, in which case I doubt their staff will have time to make calls (or send rejection/WL emails). I'm speculating that Monday will be a big day for us.
