Straight up dinged at UVA today via email. 171/3.56. Honestly I'm a little surprised, was expecting a wait-list.

Is there a general sense that the extended ED ploy has made it more difficult to get in for regular people this cycle?

I feel like switching to ED may have gotten me in, instead of rejected. I was on the verge of switching, but then my Chicago acceptance came in, so I figured, if I'm going to end up paying full price for a T14 school, might as well be the best one I can get into. So I guess its not all that bad.

Looking at the LSN graphs and applicant charts, this year's cycle doesn't look any different than last years, to be honest.

I've been complete since mid-November and I'm still without a decision.

It looks like most of the WLs and dings today were for applicants with lowish GPAs.

I've been following it on LSN and the decisions seem to be following chronological order for complete status, at least generally.

Only people that will be getting into UVA from here on out (actually, probably since a few weeks ago) will be URMs, over both medians, or the occasional splitter/reverse-splitter with cancer-curing softs. Being in the second category, I'll be happy with a WL and waiting them and every other T14 out till this summer. I expected to do that anyway, so nothing's changed

I like Duke better too, but there's about a 95% chance they like me less than Virginia does Stupid Duke with their stupid GPA requirements and their stupid faces I didn't mean it plz let me in

Agreed. I'd feel the same way with my scores if I had applied to any of those schools besides UVa.

FWIW, I believe a 171 is actually a better LSAT score than a 172.

A 172 is in that awkward (for 6-14) above median / above 75th% spot. Just... sucks. :/

My god this is terrifying. Applying next year with a 3.49 and waiting to find out my LSAT from last week. I was thinking if I got a 173ish I'd be good to go at UVA, but shit. Rough luck everybody.

Well, it makes me feel a little better that today was a UVA Holocaust in general, and not just me being singled out for destruction.

I'm starting to get kind of worried about my cycle in general, though. WL At Duke, ding at Berkeley, and now a ding at UVA. None of those are particularly shocking (maybe UVA), but I'd still like to get some kind of good sign to keep my spirits up. Cornell? Michigan? Show me some love, please?

Hmm I still haven't heard from UVA, just looked and my status checker is still UR from 1/4. Given the slaughter thats taken place, I'm expecting a WL/Ding pretty soon.
