Also interested in this. Also wondering if anyone out there was asked to interview with Dugas and subsequently got WL'ed/Dinged.
I interviewed with Dugas earlier in the week and he mentioned that since he wasn't part of the admissions committee he needed to draft up a report and send it over before they could make a final decision. It's just speculation on my part - but it sounded like the process may take a couple of days.
Do any of you guys mind sharing when you submitted/went complete and when you got the interview invite?
Submitted OCTOBER 7th. UR October 8th. Radio silence until Feb 14, when I was invited to interview.

Am I wrong to feel discouraged by this? Like this interview is some sort of lesser, backburner interview for students who could very well be headed to the waitlist?
Someone tell me I'm overthinking this pls

You're overthinking this. During my interview, Jason told me his role in the process and made a point of mentioning that he didn't want me to think that I was getting interviewed by the "B Team"; they simply have a lot to do, and one of the members of the AdComm has been out of the office recently.
And to answer Navy's question, I submitted 1/14, went complete the next day, and received an interview request 2/12.

I heard the same from Jason - it just sounds as if they're currently a little overwhelmed and he's helping out with the interviews in the meantime.
I submitted on 12/23, went complete on 12/28, and also received an interview request on 2/12.

I submitted on 2/18, complete and under review 2/19. Are there multiple reviews? Status date changed to 2/22 today as well.
Edit: I am RD.

Ah okay, I was confused because as a non-citizen, I'm not eligible for Need access etc. so I'm not well versed in it.
As a non-citizen you should still be filling out Need Access btw

Yeah everything I've seen told me that as an international student I need to fill it out. I filled it out back in early Feb. I know that specifically UVA wants international students to fill it out because they ask for international students to send their needaccess.org application number instead of SIN
Is there even any point of doing need access with well off parents? Like 1%ers... I could do well with schools wanting only FAFSA because I'm and independent, but I don't see them feeling bad for a non-URM whose parents aren't struggling.

I wrote one and sent it in with an updated resume a few weeks ago. Still no movement on the status checker.

Me neither. Couldn't really think of something that'd be anything more than regurgitating their website, so... oh wellz.

Since you posted that before 5pm I'm wondering if you maybe heard anything further? How long ago did you interview?

Have you gotten an offer already? Or preemptive for March 3? I actually notified them of my standing offers (at least those that are competitive) a few months ago. We'll see if they take them into account at all.

Oops sorry

I got an offer with my initial acceptance, but since then my LSAT has gone up and I've received higher offers from a few schools. I guess I'll follow your lead and go ahead and send those to them, see if it helps

I went complete 11/17, about 100 days ago, and have had radio silence since.
Should I do anything? Or just keep waiting?

If you didn't originally submit a "Why UVA" essay, I would probably do that. Otherwise its just a wait and see game. I'm in the same boat, submitted a why uva addendum a week or so ago, and am just hoping i see some movement soon. According the the MyLSN timeline, the bulk of UVA's waitlist notifications go out in March though, so I would suspect that is where most of us are headed at this point.

Does anyone know how much UVA cares about LORs and connections? I have a (hopefully strong) UVA-specific LOR from someone on UVA's "Notable Alumni" page, with whom I've worked pretty closely for two years. I thought that would be a good boost since I'm borderline, but as it gets later in the cycle I'm starting to lose hope.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
