I'm reppin' 12/24 and still alive. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or if they're just working their way (again) to our apps.

Well, I finally have the emotional fortitude to post this now.
WLed at around 7 last night
174/3.8x. Wrote a Why Penn.
Penn was my top choice. This hurts, and it hurts badly.
I'm trying to take this as an opportunity to give a harder look to my other schools. I hope this will all work out. I'm going to be riding that WL to the bitter end though.

Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I was of the same mindset when I saw every single lower T14 couldn't hold a 170 and a few still increased class sizes. Just 2 schools holding that 170 would've helped the 170+ types quite a bit more this cycle I'm betting.lawschool22 wrote:Yeah that's what I was afraid of...
Imagine if all the schools would've dropped classed sizes ~10% and 3 or 4 held the 170. I think 170+ splitters would be loving life right about now!
My cycle's still great for what I'm looking for, so no complaints!

Thanks to all for the kind words. Last night was my night to cry and mope. Now I'm drafting my "please keep me on the WL" email and starting to look forward to my ASWs at other schools. Onward and upward. Chin up all my WL brethren, and congrats to the recent admits. Best of luck to all those still waiting esp the 11/22 peeps like Specs.

I think 170+ splitters will still have good cycles at some of the lower t14 and the T6. I'm betting a lot of the 171+ splitters are going to be calling NYU and Columbia home this cycle.Soco Law wrote:I was of the same mindset when I saw every single lower T14 couldn't hold a 170 and a few still increased class sizes. Same dates as you - hoping this means something good! I've gone from thinking its YP to thinking that they're really looking harder at softs/intangibles which has the effect of making their process look arbitrary. Not sure how well that will work out for me.AuctionTheory wrote:Long time lurker here.

With a second LOCI they would be crazy not to take you. Last cycle I know Spivey mentioned at least one person got off Chicago's waitlist with a 90-120K offer. Hopefully they will offer you something similar when they realize Penn really is your top choice. Speaking of which, have you visited the admissions office?andapieceoftoast wrote:Well, I finally have the emotional fortitude to post this now.

I'd agree with this. You've got a great shot and, more importantly, a great attitude. Also same dates as you two. But in my case I'll be lucky if I get waitlisted. Median LSAT and GPA between 25th and 50th.selden wrote:Same dates as you - hoping this means something good! I really think this theory is right...I should not have gotten in with my reverse splitter numbers. Especially considering who's getting WL/Dinged. I'm so sorry guys!!!! I'm sure T6 still cares a lot more about lsats though
