I am slightly new in the admission process, so I am wondering, when do we receive our financial aid package. I am not talking about scholarships and stuff, but is there not a package where it mentions how many federal loans we get, how many of that we get etc.

I got an email about 10 days after admission. You'll get whatever stafford amounts FAFSA says you qualify for and the rest in PLUS loans (unless you have a history of loan defaulting).

EDITL Also believe you can borrow up to 77 and change this year (yikes that's high)

But that includes some things that many won't need such as $2,000 for a laptop, ~$2500 for health care (though I guess at NU more students will need that since many are over 26), $1,600 for transportation (which includes a year long CTA pass, but probably is meant for trips home for holidays and for students with cars). Those are numbers from last year, but there was over $6000 that could easily be done without. It varies from student to student though obviously

I dunno. I'm guessing it's more, waitlist/rejection filtering, rather than waitlist/acceptance filtering.

This is all pure conjecture. What I would guess is that they will finish up the holds this week (according to the tweet), and that everyone who is being held will get some form of news. Whether it's a rejection or a waitlist is another matter. I was guessing that most of the acceptances from the hold list have been offered.

I've got the jumper, but am just a bit shy of six feet...seems like I can't win!

I'm 6' 2''. I broke my ankle in an intense game of co-ed intramural basketball earlier this year, but I should be good to go in the fall. Put me in coach!
