no letter in the mail today, but i called and asked for the status of my file.....my decision was mailed on 4/12.....i'm assuming it's a WL

i guess i should be happy that (according to faye) when one door closes, another opens?...hmm, not terribly comforting

As of yesterday, it was down to CLS and vandy w money, having already eliminated nyu and berkeley.

(I have personal reasons to be in nashville).

However, today I decided it is gonna be CLS with the caveat that I still don't know from HLS

I think calling is a waste of time. Just go enjoy the rest of your week doing something else, the decision will come soon enough.

Personally, I think we'll all be UR until tomorrow, when I think WLs, etc. will be mailed and the lucky will be called. By then, we'll know our fates, which will preclude any need to call and (possibly) hear that a decision has been mailed. That's just what I think, though.

If someone does want to call today (and I am definitely not going to, hehe), it would probably be of no use until late afternoon PST.

I actually do think calls might go out today. Last year, a few folks heard about 48 hours before ASW (which, due to the $400 stipend they could still afford to attend). I wouldn't be surprised if today were the day.

This could just be idle hoping for some folks I'd like to see get in, though.

since I was told by a Stanford insider that there was still 20% of acceptances left to hand out, it was determined that approximately 16 LSN acceptances should be handed out. From what I can tell, only 4 or 5 have been handed out. So hopefully more are to come.

Update on that. LSN now shows 56 acceptances out of 462 applicants. The average LSN acceptance rate over the previous 3 years was 13.4%, so that would suggest 62 expected acceptances. If that's right, then about 10% of acceptances are left. Note this is only straight out acceptances, i.e. it doesn't include those accepted off of the waitlist.

Here's hoping the remaining acceptances go to some deserving TLSers.

It took me a minute too. Translation: he was very disappointed about not getting into HLS or YLS, so the lesser disappointment of not getting into SLS will not seem so bad by comparison as it might have had he not experienced the disappointments of rejections from the other two.
