anyway, i'm sure we're all reading into this stuff a bit (read: waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy) too much. we're assuming rhyme and reason, which is questionable to begin with, and we're basing that assumption on a limited and imperfect sample.
i truly hope adcomms lol their asses off at this stuff.
now, back to my tea leaves!

Sorry folks
They're rejecting some candidates with serious numbers pretty early and it's hard to make sense of.

I completely agree. I actually looked up if you could be put into an induced coma because you aren't feeling the next few months. Apparently, you can't.musedreverie wrote:I don't know how much more pressure I can handle! Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
It is interesting though. Taking a look at the spreadsheet and at the LSN reports, its clear that most of the acceptances that have gone out so far are above median LSAT (175 on spreadsheet, probably same on LSN). Rejections are mostly below 25th LSAT. The middle is mostly unaccounted for though (not much in the way of 172-174).

On the spreadsheet tab "more analytics" what does "LG" and "L" or "G" stand for?

I think they're just secret codes that lawschool22 used to calculate the stuff on the side ... maybeLSCHI wrote:On the spreadsheet tab "more analytics" what does "LG" and "L" or "G" stand for?

It is an indicator of whether the applicant is above median LSAT or GPALSCHI wrote:On the spreadsheet tab "more analytics" what does "LG" and "L" or "G" stand for?
LG = above both medians
L = above LSAT median only
G = above GPA median only
ETA: Xylocarp is correct that the codes are used to calculate the tables on the side. The tables sum up the number of applicants who have received JS1 or JS2 and who fit into each of the 4 categories (LG, L, G, or none)

Thanks! Now I have another page of (probably meaningless) data into which I can try and read some meaning.fra wrote:It is an indicator of whether the applicant is above median LSAT or GPALSCHI wrote:On the spreadsheet tab "more analytics" what does "LG" and "L" or "G" stand for?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
There is some good info on that page, it's a nicely made spreadsheet. It would be more useful if it also included the sample size for each category in addition to the percentages. As it is it is pretty difficult to immediately know if the percentages are indicative of anything or if they are just noisy from small sample sizes.LSCHI wrote:Thanks! Xylo - could I add some additional tables to this page with sample size? I'm pretty good at spreadsheeting, so I don't think that I'll mess anything up (esp. since I'll just be adding, not editing things that are already there), but I don't want to be that butthole who edits without permission and messes it up for everyone.

Maybe they take a day to make the actual decisions, and Monday they'll roll them out again?

I have to think there will be a JS1 wave today or tomorrow, since there are slots for next week.

There are only 106 people in the FB group so they still have a lot of JS2s to go

I do agree that there are a lot of JS2s to go, but since you have to request to join the group, this is probably not indicative of how many JS2s they have given out. I suspect lots of people are holding off until they make their decision.Hat.trick wrote:There are only 106 people in the FB group so they still have a lot of JS2s to go

Huge congrats to all the JS2s this week! Y'all are awesome. Really sorry to hear about the dings though. Holding out hope for the non-stratospheric LSAT wave to come through one of these days...

There are a ton of interview slots up. Looks like a big JS1 wave is coming soon. That doesn't necessarily bode well for JS2 hopefuls...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
