Columbia's decision process is what happens when Boomers run the world for too long.

I have the extended set for sick days. Why watch stupid day time tv while lying on the couch when you can watch 12 hours of LOTR extended version goodness? And that's not even including all the special features

But yes, I second LS22, LOTR movies are better then the Hobbit ones and the books are also a must read.

Hobbit movies are so dumb. Would have been great if Peter Jackson had fought the urge to make money and made it into one movie instead of 3. We all saw LOTR, we don't need to be reminded that Australia is gorgeous.lawschool22 wrote:It blows The Hobbit movies out of the water.applelover wrote:

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Definitely should have been one, simple movie. All the extra storylines and shit he is adding just dilute the story and make it a bore. Also, PJ would want you to know its New Zeland not Australia lol.midwest17 wrote:Hobbit movies are so dumb. Maybe I can bring my Trivial Pursuit LOTR edition (yes, my family actually has that) and we can see who the biggest LOTR fans really are.kershka wrote:I have the extended set for sick days. Anyone have the HP trivial pursuit? Then we can have a real party

PS - Congrats to all the new admits!!!!

PPS - Was so disappointed in the first Hobbit movie that I have zero desire to see the second.

Also, empty mailbox here again. Well not technically empty, but nothing that mattered.
Also, if we are going the LOTR thing I nominate Morgoth as LSAC

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
For everyone who was wondering about Butler/Hamilton a few pages back, I remembered reading this a while back and it may help. Here's a LSN analysis of who received a Butler/Hamilton in past cycles (the 2010 data is incomplete):
2010 cycle: 14 Hamiltons 8 Butlers
2009 cycle: 14 Hamiltons 17 Butlers
2008 cycle: 12 Hamiltons 17 Butlers
2007 cycle: 24 Hamiltons 4 Butlers
2006 cycle: 11 Hamiltons 8 Butlers
So in some years there were more Hamiltons than Butlers (2007 especially when only 4 Butlers were reported) and in other years, it was the opposite. HTH

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I don't mind the snail mail so much (old school, kind of neat to get it in paper), but WHY WOULD THEY STAGGER RELEASES? Is the sole purpose to imbue the process with added stress and uncertainty?
Perhaps I am ignorant. Is there any rational explanation? Surely they can submit them all to USPS on the same day (especially considering their late-cyle release)...

Yes, and the LSAT can be Sauron, which makes sense especially for retakers.Nonconsecutive wrote: Congrats!

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
The second was worse than the first, IMHO. I actually struggled to get through it. They should have stuck with the original plan to only make two hobbit movies. There was just way too much filler.tls2175 wrote:Maybe I can bring my Trivial Pursuit LOTR edition (yes, my family actually has that) and we can see who the biggest LOTR fans really are.kershka wrote:I have the extended set for sick days.
