Held, 1/11. Seems like this is pretty neutral -- my application is not terrible but nothing to write home about either? Can anyone testify to actually being admitted after a hold?

Same here, though I have worse numbers. I'm hoping this is a good sign for us? Considering I applied super early, I was thinking I would get a hold/rejection email in the first batch since I hadn't gotten a J1.broadstreet11 wrote:Okay so no hold or rejection, but no JS1. Rejected. In one email, my dream of a miracle cycle has come to a quick, painful end. At least JS was very polite and as gentle as possible.

The blog post says that holding is to let people whose file has been complete for months know that it didn't fall down a hole. I applied in November, haven't heard anything since...I'm starting to like the black hole theory

Rejected via email
(#s in profile) Applied in Sept. I had lost hope of a JS1 at this point, but was praying for a hold or maybr WL.
I will stop posting here, but congrats to everyone admitted, good luck to those with JS1 and those still waiting!

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Radio silence here. Was hoping for a hold for myself, but at least Helix got to fulfill his lifelong dream of starting the Held thread.
Looks like we've lost a few good people today. Yet it still doesn't feel like a bloodbath--more like a trickle. Last year the holds came one day and the rejections the next, but now small amounts of both came in one day. Seems like they're going to do the same thing with the first holds / dings that they did with the first JS1s and JS2s: very little activity one day, followed by a large wave of activity soon afterward. I expect the real floodgates will open on Monday.
Maybe.
