Congrats!

That doesn't bode well for me. My numbers would have gotten that last year, but I don't have as good of numbers as you.
+1

Congrats, DC! UVa can shove it.

Duke, your $150 travel stipend is insufficient when I'm traveling every other weekend of march, am absolutely broke, and the ticket costs $310.

(Disclaimer: this is not a rant or anything, and I'm not trying to scold you by any stretch, just mentioning something that I thought is somewhat relevant)

Honestly, though, law school is super cheap compared to medical school or dental school applications.
They pay roughly the same application fees as we do, but they have to interview at every school where they have a chance of being admitted - you can't get in without an interview.

I had to travel to 6 different dental schools with my fiancee all over the eastern US between September and now. The entire process (apps + travel) has probably cost over $5,000.

Whereas my whole process has cost maybe 20% of that. One nice thing is that I piggybacked my Duke visit onto her UNC dental interview. She got into UNC a couple of weeks ago, so that combo is now our #1 choice, unless I sneak into Harvard somehow (I haven't been rejected yet!).

I'd really like 75k. Is there any chance that I can show them my UT scholarship and COA, and maybe get a little more if I promise to go?

Congrats! Is that enough to get you at Duke? I'm not sure if a UT scholarship is enough to sway them, maybe wait for another T14 scholarship.

This makes me scared that I won't receive the same ammount. Please, Duke, please.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say that YOU wouldn't receive any...just that it scares me that I won't receive any...(that is, if I even get in!). Best of luck to both of you though, I'm sure you're both deserving.

Since UT offered you significantly less, I know I wouldn't be swayed but perhaps if you make a really good case. I'd hold off if I were you, you probably need to convince them with another T14 (T10 ideally) scholarship

BTW UT is in-state so the COA is 95k for me. I knew I should have applied to Mich or something. Oh well, I'm going to Duke anyway.

That would be a hard decision for me. Not because of the money, but because I love UT and really don't like North Carolina.

Well, apparently there was no bloodbath today...definitely proof of a delayed cycle this year. Maybe we'll start hearing more decisions next week?

Did you get your offer? PM ammount (If I remember correctly you promised me the money when you withdrew)?

UT offered me slightly less than you. I hope I get something decent from Duke, I would only consider going there if I get some money.

I will go check my mailbox. Based on previous cycles I am expecting 75k, I would only not withdraw if it matched my UVA money (in which case I would withdraw from UVA, probably).
