Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
held is they are still considering your app but won't make a decision until the deadline they told you. Reserve is waitlist - they will evaluate everyone later in like May thru the summer if there are spots availableKangaroo_Court wrote:Hello guys! What is the difference between hold and reserve? did you just get held?

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
There are three decisions that can be made on an application: Accept, Reject, Reserve.Kangaroo_Court wrote:Hello guys! What is the difference between hold and reserve? I still don't understand
Hold means they have not made any of these decisions on the application, but will eventually make a decision on this at some point.
"Unlike applicants who are “wait-listed” at some law schools, candidates placed on reserve at Columbia are at no point ranked ordinally. Rather, each application on reserve is reviewed again in its entirety by the Admissions Committee on a periodic basis during the summer months, as openings in the entering class materialize. Upon each review, some candidates will be offered or denied admission, while others will be asked if they wish to remain in consideration for any future openings in the class later in the summer."

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Just noticed that in my online apps where it asks for Dates you have taken LSAT, i forgot to list one LSAT for which I cancelled the score. somehow it didn't occur to me when doing apps.
is this a serious issue? do i contact the school about this?

I think you're fine. I only listed the LSAT that was my highest, but had taken it both before and after and not done as well. I'm pretty sure they have access to all your scores via LSAC anyway -- pretty sure your score report contains all scores available. I wouldn't contact them to tell them "oh, by the way, I wanted to update you about a nonexistent score from months/years ago." They'll probably just think "Why are you telling us this?"appind wrote:Just noticed that in my online apps where it asks for Dates you have taken LSAT, i forgot to list one LSAT for which I cancelled the score. somehow it didn't occur to me when doing apps.

I interviewed in December and am still waiting for my decision. I kinda try to not visit TLS since two weeks ago

I applied January 30, and my application still has not gone complete. I have a feeling it will soon go straight to ding, instead

Interviewed in January, and have not heard back...
Is it ok if I send a LOCI, or maybe a Why Columbia?

Talked to Dean Iwerebon at ASW today. She told me point blank that if you don't get merit aid when you get admitted, you're not getting any.
In other words, I'm not going to CLS.

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading on past years' threads that Columbia ostensibly only offers the Hamilton and Butler as "merit aid," but when you look at who later gets non-named "need-based" aid, stats seem to be a factor.ayylmao wrote:I assume so.hellohalo wrote:Crap. I don't think it's a significant issue -- it will most likely be listed in the report. I did the same and I still got in.appind wrote:Just noticed that in my online apps where it asks for Dates you have taken LSAT, i forgot to list one LSAT for which I cancelled the score. somehow it didn't occur to me when doing apps.

Do those online apps even have the option to enter cancelled scores though? I thought you had to select a score for each test date (unless it was in the future).doinkymeep wrote:I don't think it's a significant issue -- it will most likely be listed in the report.
