Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'll be sad or whatever but I'll also be fine. I'm more angry about the amount of time it's taken for a decision. I put a lot of effort into my NYU application (and subsequent named scholarship essay they clearly just threw in a trash bin).benwyatt wrote:FTFYTheKisSquared wrote:benwyatt wrote:I'm a little sorry for vaguely abandoning the thread but it seems to have been okay without me.darlenealderson wrote:Oh my god I can't believe it hasn't happened yet!benwyatt wrote:New poll!Crossing everything for ya. At this point I'm just waiting on NYU and HLS, too, soooooooooo...
I'M SO CLOSE.

Still waiting on HLS, YLS,SLS, NYU and its driving me nuts. I sense a bunch of waiting lists coming, but agree the amount of time NYU is taking is not justified.

When are NYU's admitted students weekends? They haven't admitted anyone in several weeks, and I can't imagine everyone left is a WL or a ding... surely some have to know soon?

I think the next ASW is March 31/April 1. It does feel like there hasn't been much news recently.James.K.Polk wrote:When are NYU's admitted students weekends? They haven't admitted anyone in several weeks, and I can't imagine everyone left is a WL or a ding... surely some have to know soon?

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm pretty sure this has been spoken about in this thread, although I don't recall anything definitive:
What is the general wisdom regarding sending NYU a LOCI before being put on waitlist? (I received the "don't worry, we have not forgotten about you, we're just not that into you" email a few weeks ago...)
The two issues I can see with a premature LOCI are: (1)bugging the admissions office (2)not having material for a new LOCI after the inevitable waitlist.
On the other hand, maybe a LOCI now can tip the scales in favor of a regular acceptance..?
Any thoughts?

I'm working on one now, but I feel like if I don't the waitlist guaranteed. I did the same at other schools and saw movement after being dead for a month. Could be coincidence, but if this it the first LOCI to that school and there's some worthwhile development I don't see how it could be a problem.mdu wrote:I'm pretty sure this has been spoken about in this thread, although I don't recall anything definitive:

My status checker for NYU reads "Decision letter sent" with the current status date being today, 3/15.
Does NYU email you if you get dinged? Or are all decisions sent by physical mail?

Read the first post on the first page of this thread, especially where it says "What to expect when you're expecting." But my guess is you're in!incandenza11 wrote:My status checker for NYU reads "Decision letter sent" with the current status date being today, 3/15.

You can check the admitted students' website to see if you've been accepted. Try logging in following the instructions, if it works, you've been accepted!incandenza11 wrote:Ah, my bad, should have checked the first post. Thank you! I didn't get a hold email, I had applied on 2/11 and went complete 2/12 (according to my spreadsheet but that seems really fast, maybe I entered it wrong).mdu wrote:Congrats! Rejected. This was my reach so no worries. I'm betting on a new 170 median LSAT for NYU, any takers?

Westcoaster here who just got a call from NYC. Considering I know nobody on the East coast at all, I was SUPER EXCITED. Turns out it was a wrong number.

I'm at 3/3 but still under review, weirdly enough - well below both medians (though above both 25ths) so I'm not expecting to get in at all but would like to claw onto the waitlist at least...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
