Same.. I think we interviewed on the same day too.

Did either of you have a decision prior to the interview? I was put on the Pref. WL prior to my interview and haven't had any status updates since... :|

I havent heard squat from Gulc since my acceptance. I know some of you have recieved scholarship info/questions/invites....my question, am i totally screwed on any scholarship? Other than some minimal amount (15k/year)?

Everyone who applies to Georgetown is totally screwed on scholarships. A very small minority will get a minimal amount but probably not enough to justify attending when compared to their other offers.

No clue off hand but look up gov or JD preferred jobs on LST for both schools and compare. How large is the GW scholly?

anybody know how Georgetown feels for LOCI/supplementary materials/emails for wait-listed candidates? are they one of those schools who wants to hear nothing or hear updates? (I guess hear updates since in the letter they asked about pending deadlines at other schools)

Several updates since my 2/17 interview but no decision. Ughhhhhh. At least no ding yet? I'm about to call my apartment complex to confirm they aren't holding a package for me.

FWIW, I want to do legislative counsel/government work, so I dont really expect to make tons of money post graduation.
In general, GOVT, like Big Law, is prestige-whorish. That would be particularly true with legislative counsel work.

Current Georgetown 1E here if you have any questions, but actually here to ask a question for a friend.

Is USA showing up in country of citizenship still a confirmation of admission? I did a quick search and saw a few mentions, but want to make sure that is still the case, before I tell my friend he definitely just got in.

I'm still sitting at complete with no country of citizenship, and i'm pretty American. SO.. that may mean something?

Was waitlisted last week and have no Country of Citizenship. Looks good for this possibility.

I was admitted and I have county of citizenship listed. As I don't really check status checkers often, not sure if it was there before I was admitted.

I have county of citizenship listed but I haven't been admitted unless the letter is in the mail. I also have not had an interivew and am a marginal applicant.

XXX Street
Apartment YYY

Hey all, I'm a bit confused. I sent out that 150 word thing on February 15. If I didn't receive a scholarship offer, does that mean I'm not getting one?

Given what other people have said the letter is probably in the mail. I know from last year that this was followed by an acceptance letter in every case discussed. The idea is that GULC only mails acceptance letter and the change in address format and citizenship is a result of them formatting your address information for mailing.

I was actually on the regular waitlist until mid-July so I can actually provide some potentially useful advice in this area. I believe that updates are generally a good thing, but I would also write a very GULC specific letter. I sent LOCI after each waitlist update reiterating my intention to attend if admitted, and giving GULC an update on additional things I had done. These were always answered with a form email.

I'm from the area and sent a longer LOCI reiterating my desire to attend AND how GULC would fit into my long term plans to stay near family and be able to practice in DC. I received a more detailed response to that message, saying that admissions would make a special note of my desire to be in the DC area. While I know that approach isn't possible for everyone, I think an LOCI that sells how GULC is the perfect fit for you as opposed to just selling yourself to GULC would be very useful.

Thanks for the info. THe problem I see with GULC this year is the scholarship situation. As of today GULC is probably my top choice. but I can't pay sticker, Period. I am getting some very good offers from other schools. I want to work in DC after Graduation but I can NOT afford the cost of attendance at GULC. I was amitted around Jan. 15th have not heard a thing from them. I will definately need more that 15/year to attend. My folks and I don't have that type of money. UCLA which i consider a peer school has started out giving me 48K for 3 years and they are currently negotiating up my scholarship. From what I have read and PM'ed other GULC accepted applicants most do not seem happy with the GULC scholarship situation. It leaves me wondering if I should even think about attending and just withdraw now... your thoughts.

Alumni interview invite via email. It will be interesting to see if there are any alumni in my area.

Have any other international applicants done an in-person alumni interview?

They already sent out the offers. I got tagged as an alternate on 3/1. They may very well do it in batches, but the email (and how this thread went off that night) made it sound like they'd all gone out at once. It may have been sorted into your spam.
