If I had to choose one word to summarize this whole process, particularly the 'waiting game,' it would be 'trolled.' For that reason, I was a troll for Purim (basically the Jewish Halloween). My best friend who also applied to law school this year immediately knew why I had chosen that outfit. Hang in there! "This too shall pass!"

Penn just overhauled its LRAP. It will be paying all monthly payments for ten years for grads that go into PI and make less than 80k

It pays the amount you would be obligated to pay under IBR regardless of whether you are on IBR or not.

It sounds like the new LRAP still wouldn't do anything about negative amortization if you leave before completing the full 10 years... I think NYU is the only one that does? (Also, there are the few LRAP programs that aren't intertwined with IBR yet.)

If you're in the program for three years they give you more money on top of the IBR payments but that doesn't seem to be enough to do anything about negative amortization. Overall I'm not that pleased with it.

I think Mich does. IIRC they pay your accrued interest through an escrow funded by the school.
