OK, maybe they had a big meeting in the morning, and now that lunchtime is over, Dean Deal is warming up her phone. I imagine she has a special phone used only for acceptance calls. And I imagine it's some sort of novelty phone, like a football phone from sports illustrated.

Got DLSed today, friends. Soft hold, non-URM, 170 4.08. It was a good ride while it lasted. Should I call and ask if it is a rejection or WL?

Why not? I'd say it's a 50/50 chance...

Yeah I'd do it. Can't hurt, but it might be hard to get through right now. Sorry about the DLS though!

Condolences. Definitely call, I still think these are WL's.

Sorry to repeat my earlier, stupid question, but what exactly is a "soft hold"? Is it somebody who submitted very early and hasn't heard anything since? So somebody who submitted and was UR in January would not be considered a soft hold?

At this point in time it would seem that somebody who went UR in January is in the soft-hold category as acceptances and denials have already been passed out to people who submitted at that time. Obviously everyone still waiting to hear who submitted before that date is also in the soft-hold category.

Anybody call to confirm WL/R?

Still UR here, but from browsing last year's thread, it looks like the admit window is just about closed, assuming they wrap things up on a similar schedule this year. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Then they just decide who makes the cut for WL....

I just called and got their "all our staff are assisting other callers" message. They must be inundated! I'll try back when I get off of work and let you know what I find out.
Just called again and got through this time. "Unfortunately we were unable to offer you a seat in the class."

So maybe no big WL wave yet.

Just curious about how many other enlisted service members are lurking the forum -- I got out of the Marines in '10. Radio silence since i went UR in early October. I want so badly to be Stanford's token Grunt in the class of 15.

DLSes from two days ago were rejections. Arrived home to a thin envelope today.

I'm rather surprised about this rejection, but there's not much I can do now...

I hear if you hold the letter under a blacklight a big "YP" appears on the back.

Still here. No DLS. Applied in October. If they get back to me Saturday (unlikely, I know) it will be exactly our 6 mon. anniversary (from completion). It would be a romantic time to get down on one knee and offer me a place in the class.

Just a few days from my six monther too. What's taking them so long? Maybe we're all actually soft waitlists and are being mulled over until our already-admitted numbers-clone accepts or declines their admission offer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
