1/10 submission, 1/11 processing... still at processing, haha!! Slowest school ever. Hope the wait is worth it in the end.......

When should deferrals expect to hear back? I have some first deposits due at schools soon, but I'm still holding out for Cornell...

That's early! At least one of my ASW doesn't happen until later than that. Not fair. Good luck getting a decision soon. It would suck to have to commit and then lose the money. Some schools also won't get financial aid packages done until April.

I had one due April 1st, asked for extension, and got it. I wrote a nice e-mail on how an extension would benefit them because if I am rushed to make a decision by their deadline, and am still not sure, I would be forced to withdraw...something I don't want to do. They promptly gave me a response, saying I now had until the end of April

Does Cornell offer both merit and need-based aid? Everyone was complaining about having to send in tax returns. At what income level would it be worth the hassle to do?

someone linked to a lsn account a page or so back that looks like a deferral that was accepted yesterday

They just told me via email 6-8 weeks this week. But I guess you could always receive something earlier. The linked account was URM IIRC so that may not be a good bellwether.

yeah that account looked fishy, it said they applied ED not EA (could have just been an error but who knows)

Just to confirm, they said expect a decision 6-8 weeks from THIS week? so mid april?

You know what I was wrong. It said eight to twelve weeks. It's like not answering my question since that's deposit deadline territory. I guess they are daring/waiting out me to withdraw.

You know what I was wrong. It said eight to twelve weeks. It's like not answering my question since that's deposit deadline territory. I guess they are daring/waiting out me to withdraw.

or they're just hedging their bets so that you won't freak out when you haven't heard back in the next two weeks....

I'm sure you'll hear back from them before that timeline.
