If I go to UF I plan to solidify my legacy with an ACR tattoo.

Re: University of Florida
Much appreciated. I realize I've probably been overdoing it (like a lot of other people on this board) and have been/am drastically cutting back on my activity here. I'm just now taking another look at this thread, and won't bother looking back beyond this post to see what kind of "Lomax bashing" went on before it. I'm done with the back-and-forth; it's a waste of my time. I'm better off watching The Practice. But I'll still drop in to call 'em like I see 'em every now and then. The intelligent and reasonable will figure out on their own that I am perfectly right and justified in stating whatever it is I'm stating, while the ignorant and idiotic will be somehow convinced that I couldn't be more wrong and fling insults in my direction - only now I will be gone even before they come at me, and their slung mud will simply fall to the floor. Anyway, I am glad that you are an intelligent and reasonable person, Ragnar. I suppose that I should be seeing you at UF this coming fall after all.Ragnar wrote:I'm way behind on the Lomax bashing, but for the record, I'm a Lomax fan. The guys calls 'em likes he sees 'em and you gotta respect him for that. He's been more than helpful for a lot of people, especially if they are a possible future classmate of his. Look, we all know exactly what to expect, and I'll tell you what, if I know what to expect from someone, good or bad, I like 'em. Lomax, you're yet one more reason for me to go to UF. Hats off.

Technically you're not an ACR if you go to UF. ACR is what we call the people who live in Gainesville but aren't students.Midnight Rider wrote:Under review today. Wow...never thought i'd get this worked up about potentially becoming a legit ACR.

But surely people who are perennial students at UF start to get the ACR virus at some point. We'll give undergrads a pass, but what about those of us that have been to the Hoggtowne Medieval Fair and enjoy eating oysters at CJ's and have actually been west of I-75? Oh, or those of us that know why Archer, Williston, and Waldo roads are named as such?

If you’re admitted does your seat deposit due change on the online status checker?

And that is because you are an infallible being destined only for the best things in life. In fact, you are perfection incarnate.Lomax wrote: The intelligent and reasonable will figure out on their own that I am perfectly right and justified in stating whatever it is I'm stating, while the ignorant and idiotic will be somehow convinced that I couldn't be more wrong and fling insults in my direction - only now I will be gone even before they come at me, and their slung mud will simply fall to the floor.

Rush hour in Lakeland means the hour after the meth lab releases its new batch for sale to the public.p_r wrote:Yes, rush hour in Lakeland is not a pretty picture.

Either that or when the corner diner decides to up their early-bird special senior discount from 15% to 20% between the hours of 4 and 5pm.

Now, a question of my own. I've been living here four years and I can't figure it out.
Why are Gainesville cops such horrible, horrible, horrible dicks?
Because they go to the towns of Archer, Waldo, and Newberry. Good gun shops in the towns around Gainesville.DallasCowboy wrote:Why are Archer, Waldo, and Newberry named as such?

I knew that, Lol. Thanks Cpt. Obvious! I was hoping for a cool story of who the people are.
I've never had a problem with the cops. I guess that's because I'm over 21 and survived the prior years without incident.

They've got absolutely nothing better to do. Have you ever watched Police Beat? It will get your blood boiling.
Also, I spent over 3 years in Polk County. At least you are 30 minutes from Tampa and 40 from Orlando. Gainesville doesn't have any major cities close enough to drive to for a night out without having to stay the night. But, yeah, there is really nothing going on in Polk.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
