It doesn't have to be, though. If you are prepared for the grind, know what you're getting in to, and make the best decisions you can considering your desires, it's whatever. It's not a GOOD situation, but it's better than some alternatives.

+1. We're all taking huge risks here. At the very least we're giving up three years of our lives to enter a profession that is incredibly overcrowded.

I asked earlier, but after my status date going from 12/12 to 3/4 today, anyone care to guess how much longer it will be before they issue a decision? This shit is killing me, especially since one of the decision options is the waitlist; i.e. "We decided not to decide yet."

Ok, so Cornell's deadline for all of the financial aid stuff (including tax returns) is 3/15. My parents won't be submitting tax returns by then, any thoughts? I did all of FAFSA and NeedAccess based on estimates, should that be enough? Should I just send them in whenever they are finished?

Also, as a non-Cornell specific question: I only sent NA and FAFSA information to schools I had been accepted to, should I go back and add the ones I'm still waiting on rather than adding them later if I'm ultimately accepted?

For the 2nd question, I sent NA and FAFSA to every school I applied to, excluding schools that had rejected me, including schools I'm still pending at. It's just less to do later if I get accepted.

o_o what type of URM? I am surprised they didn't outright accept you with those numbers... Even non URMs with those numbers get in
