I only wrote the 5 year plan, basically just wrote a why penn essay...it wasn't too hard as I am from Philly and Penn is probably my number 1 choiceboilercat wrote:Hmm you give me hope. Hmmm...I think I was UR on or about 1/19 and then I went to UCR on 1/29. My status updated against to UCR on 2/1/10. Don't know what any of that means as far as hearing back soon.

Since people usually have at most three UR dates, it should mean that your next news will be a decision.sundevil77 wrote:Hmmm...I think I was UR on or about 1/19 and then I went to UCR on 1/29. I sent them an LOCI and updated my resume. They told me that we will hear before April but it should be MUCH MUCH MUCH sooner (this was in December)puppins wrote:did you send something and/or call?0L Hoping for 1 wrote:ahh when will people who have been "held" start hearing back?? Well good job Penn, I have moved from Penn being my number one choice to now seriously considering withdrawing because I just spoke with them on the phone and they think the that the earliest "held" candidates will hear back is Mid-March.

I guess thats true, but I want to have an idea of where I am going by that time so I guess I will just wait and if they dont give me a scholarship then send them a no thank you letter.puppins wrote:No point in withdrawing though; you can always just wait and see what happens. Mid-March is still scholarship negotiation time, before deposits are due.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:Well good job Penn, I have moved from Penn being my number one choice to now seriously considering withdrawing because I just spoke with them on the phone and they think the that the earliest "held" candidates will hear back is Mid-March.
She also said that it is most likely going to be April when we hear back? I dont know though, maybe she was lowering expectations but that sucks if true, I freakin applied in September with above median numbers.

If there is a school that YP's, it's UPenn. Unfortunate. Hears to you going to a school that doesn't frustrate you.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:Well good job Penn, I have moved from Penn being my number one choice to now seriously considering withdrawing because I just spoke with them on the phone and they think the that the earliest "held" candidates will hear back is Mid-March.

Got a call from an unknown number in class today, with voicemail, I was hoping it was Penn, but as soon as I checked the missed call and saw "Austin, TX" under the number I knew it was UT. I went UCR 1/29, so maybe tomorrow?

Is there usually that fast of a turn-around after going UCR?castellon wrote:Got a call from an unknown number in class today, with voicemail, I was hoping it was Penn, but as soon as I checked the missed call and saw "Austin, TX" under the number I knew it was UT. Depends... took me about a month. For others, a lot longer.JusticeHarlan wrote:Is there usually that fast of a turn-around after going UCR?castellon wrote:Got a call from an unknown number in class today, with voicemail, I was hoping it was Penn, but as soon as I checked the missed call and saw "Austin, TX" under the number I knew it was UT. Haha, didn't think so, thanks. What fun would this process be without status checkers to refresh for months on end?managamy wrote:In a word: no.JusticeHarlan wrote:Is there usually that fast of a turn-around after going UCR?castellon wrote:Got a call from an unknown number in class today, with voicemail, I was hoping it was Penn, but as soon as I checked the missed call and saw "Austin, TX" under the number I knew it was UT. Re: U Penn 2010
No idea-probably not, but I think I saw that a UCR 1/28 got accepted today. I've heard back from 4 out of 11, and I'm starting to really lose my mind (checking my phone every 2 minutes, checking the mailbox multiple times a day even though I'm fairly certain the mailman comes before I even get up, going through the message board too many times a day). I wish I could just forget that I ever applied to law school.JusticeHarlan wrote:Is there usually that fast of a turn-around after going UCR?castellon wrote:Got a call from an unknown number in class today, with voicemail, I was hoping it was Penn, but as soon as I checked the missed call and saw "Austin, TX" under the number I knew it was UT. I think earlier applications have more leeway for being accepted than later ones for UPenn, when the numbers are obviously above what their entering class is.managamy wrote:+a lot.
