Shit my bad! BUT just wanted to point out--for fellow JS1s still holding out hopes for a JS2--that at least per the LSN data, we're pretty much right on track with last year. This time last year, about 15-20 people had reported being admitted on LSN, and about the same number had reported being rejected.
Graph: http://mylsn.info/d/harvard/1415-NoED/
This year, almost exactly the same: http://harvard.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ort=status
This suggests we should be on the verge of a big wave of acceptances, like Feb 2-3 last year (see graph above). This should alleviate any concern that the "big wave" of JS2s has already passed, especially for early applicants. The "big wave" on Feb 2-3 last year included lots and lots of October-November applicants.
So...tomorrow?!?!
ETA okay maybe it shouldn't alleviate any concern, but I'm hopeful

I had already spoken with the alumnus they put me in touch with (from my UG, graduated HLS magna - nicest guy in the world), and the 1L has gone out of his way to be super-helpful even though I told him I can wait for him to be on spring break.texasellewoods wrote:I really like everyone that's reached out so far!! January admit, so I might have to wait a bit, but I'm just curious (and excited).
This might some dumb, but would you mind sharing or PMing what topics you've been discussing with them? While I have a million questions about HLS and 1L specifically, I can't think of anything that seems relevant for at least another 2-3 months, other than financial aid.

I think I've gone through all the stages of grief and have finally come to acceptance and have acknowledged how helpless I truly am in being able to do anything about my decision status.

Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
Shortly after I was admitted, I got an email from an alum who went to my undergrad (a school that doesn't send many people to HLS). We had basically nothing else in common, but I still enjoyed our conversation. More recently, I sent an email to admissions with a question about faculty-student relationships, and they put me in touch with a 3L who had done a bunch of one-on-one work with professors.Euthyphro wrote:When did they put you in touch with alumni/students? Hildy might be mad about this conversation continuing in the applicant thread, so I'll send a PM, but if anyone else is interested in this, feel free to reach out.cantorb wrote:I had already spoken with the alumnus they put me in touch with (from my UG, graduated HLS magna - nicest guy in the world), and the 1L has gone out of his way to be super-helpful even though I told him I can wait for him to be on spring break.texasellewoods wrote:I really like everyone that's reached out so far!! Well, I'm coming up on three weeks of "application received" so I'm almost wanting to just ask for my money back. Lol. It was a long shot anyway.

Yeah, I know Harvard takes a while sometimes. And considering I have low stats for them, I'm kind of thinking they just laughed and chucked my application into a pile for later.schocolate wrote:Just to clarify, you mean you haven't gone complete yet?Navyhornguy wrote:Well, I'm coming up on three weeks of "application received" so I'm almost wanting to just ask for my money back. If we're all just super pessimistic today we might be able to reverse psychology our way into JS2s!
err I mean, no way we'll experience any happiness today. Life is an endless cycle of pain of futile attempts at happiness.

Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
I was just looking at the spreadsheet. Assuming people have been updating it regularly (which could be a fairly big assumption to make), it seems like quite a few people who submitted in January haven't gone complete yet. There was one person I saw who submitted in early January and got a JS1 offer already, but they were above both 75ths.Navyhornguy wrote:Yeah, I know Harvard takes a while sometimes. Sorry if I'm reiterating stuff you've already noticed yourself, but I wanted to say don't worry just yet! At least not about not going complete. They seem really swamped.
Of course, you can worry in general, as everyone probably does, because Harvard is a cruel mistress and does what it wants.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
