Please no! You're adding rationality to the fantasy! That only makes it harder to disbelieve it...bluecouch wrote:It would kind of make sense at this point. Accept folks with good numbers w/out interview given that it's near the end of the cycle; give folks on the bubble an interview to sort out WL vs. accepts vs. denials (*gulp*). Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
So I have a question, I have submitted my application later in the cycle than most and obviously have not heard back yet, which does not concern me, however, after my recent law school visits I have realized that Chicago is Absolutely my TOP CHOICE. I know it's important not to harass the admissions office, but I somehow wish to convey to them before they make a decision that hey, everything that distinguishes your school is what I can't find at another school and I am not applying merely because you are a top school but because I think the philosophical emphasis of your school is totally my jam. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I heard chicago doesn't take LOCI's or something (only amend app's for C&F?)... Also, this is the type of thing you should have put in your original application. I guess you kinda have to wait to get WLed or something first.Jacq2212 wrote:So I have a question, I have submitted my application later in the cycle than most and obviously have not heard back yet, which does not concern me, however, after my recent law school visits I have realized that Chicago is Absolutely my TOP CHOICE. Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
definitely say it in your interview. (I'm guessing) part of the reason they don't do LOCI's is because they have another more personalized forum, the interview, for that sort of information to be revealedManOfTheMinute wrote:I heard chicago doesn't take LOCI's or something (only amend app's for C&F?)... You could, I suppose, try to get a Chicago-related C&F issue, though. I suggest tagging buildings with the UChicago seal and your LSAC acct number.Jacq2212 wrote:So I have a question, I have submitted my application later in the cycle than most and obviously have not heard back yet, which does not concern me, however, after my recent law school visits I have realized that Chicago is Absolutely my TOP CHOICE. Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
If you want to go there so badly, retake and CRUSH it in June and ED (if they have that option) in September. Someone below both LSAT and GPA medians applying late does not bode well. Your GPA may be hard to overcome at Chicago. Wish you the best of luck, but I wouldn't count on it.Jacq2212 wrote:So I have a question, I have submitted my application later in the cycle than most and obviously have not heard back yet, which does not concern me, however, after my recent law school visits I have realized that Chicago is Absolutely my TOP CHOICE. Haha, thanks guys, I appreciate the creative suggestions. I will just wait and see and hope my PS convinces them! But I mean if it gets close to the deadline and I haven't heard anything....I may go all C&F on campus

3/1 UR, 171 4.0 here. Exact same boat - passed up for interview. I am just accepting UChi will not be an option and I am ok with that. Not sure why though....MAHamlin wrote:
I wonder what UChi has against us 172+ 4.0+ applicants? I wouldn't imagine that's YP territory for Chicago... What gives, Chicago?

Just read the no interview admit theory. That's novel. Still don't expect it though they have interviewed EVERYBODY who has gotten in

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Hey everybody - I've been lurking here for some time but waiting for Chicago (and some others) is slowly making me insane, so I figured that I'd bite the bullet and start posting here just so that I can become even more insane/have my insanity confirmed and supported by others.
Stats are in my profile (if I did that right), I interviewed at Chicago last week and, to my great personal annoyance, have never had my status return to "Under Review" - it is still stuck at "Interview Scheduled." Maybe commiserating with all the people waiting here will help!

Welcome, welcome! Interesting. My status returned to under review within the hour. Then again, this was earlier in the cycle, and I interviewed w/ Dean Perry. Either one of those could have an impact on when you go back under review.siredwrdross wrote:Welcome, welcome! I wonder if it depends on who conducted your interview. I did not interview with Dean Perry.MacB wrote:Interesting. My status returned to under review within the hour. I was interviewed on 2/26 (by a non-Dean Perry) and did not go UR until 3/1cws277 wrote:I wonder if it depends on who conducted your interview. I didn't either, and mine went back under review the same day. I didn't check to see if it was within the hour though.
