Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Haven't heard back and my app went complete late-Feb...
I am really interested in the Tech Law program and was wondering if it's okay to send a Why GULC essay explaining my interest in tech law.
Do you guys advise against doing this??

Do it! The only reason not to is if you think you're likely going to be on the waitlist and you think you'd like to save that material for a letter of continued interest. My pov is to just send your why gulc now and worry about the waitlist if it happens.jakenjill wrote:Haven't heard back and my app went complete late-Feb...

The seat deposit deadline is May 1. If you received a scholarship, the deadline to accept that offer may be earlier (others have quoted tomorrow, April 3). I would handle it before 5 PM EDT to be safe.chargers21 wrote:am I correct that the seat deposit is due tomorrow? if so, what time?

so does anyone know what boxes I should check on the form? it seems like they want me to check a box under the scholarship acceptance boxgoldenbear2020 wrote:The seat deposit deadline is May 1. You just mark that you reserve the scholarship and you will enroll and pay your deposit on May 1st- you don't have to if you don't want to go you just don't pay your deposit on May 1stchargers21 wrote:so does anyone know what boxes I should check on the form? it seems like they want me to check a box under the scholarship acceptance boxgoldenbear2020 wrote:The seat deposit deadline is May 1. I guess you could read it that way but considering the optional deposit waiver says you HAVE to withdraw from other schools and commit it seems like just filling out the form and deciding to pay your deposit when it comes along would be the non binding versioncall-me-bubbles wrote:Isn't it binding, though? Maybe hold off until call-me-bubbles calls- this is how I think it works but I don't want to be the reason you lose 1,000 bucks if they do consider it bindingchargers21 wrote:Sweet, thanks!jlc058 wrote:You just mark that you reserve the scholarship and you will enroll and pay your deposit on May 1st- you don't have to if you don't want to go you just don't pay your deposit on May 1stchargers21 wrote:so does anyone know what boxes I should check on the form? it seems like they want me to check a box under the scholarship acceptance boxgoldenbear2020 wrote:The seat deposit deadline is May 1. Also super curious / worried about this as today is my "deadline" too!!!call-me-bubbles wrote:That's what I thought the first few times I read it, but now that it's April 3rd, I'm paranoid that I've been interpreting it wrong. I'm gonna call right now to ask them and then I'll post back.jlc058 wrote:I guess you could read it that way but considering the optional deposit waiver says you HAVE to withdraw from other schools and commit it seems like just filling out the form and deciding to pay your deposit when it comes along would be the non binding versioncall-me-bubbles wrote:Isn't it binding, though? I was denied an extension on the scholarship deadline but I went ahead and accepted the scholarship. There's a 20% chance I go so if it's not binding I guess I'm okay

Hey guys, applied pretty late (Feb 28) and have been "complete" since then. At this point I am expecting a ding... No interview, no gpa (international S), the ASW trick doesn't work. Is anyone still waiting for a decision? And do dings come via email or snail mail? Thanks

Thanks! What about acceptances? Do they come by snail mail only, or do they send an email as well?goldenbear2020 wrote:Dings and WLs come via email.intlbr wrote:Hey guys, applied pretty late (Feb 28) and have been "complete" since then. It has been over two months since I received and responded to the scholly feeler e-mail and I haven't received an award. Even had a conversation with the Director of Admissions, who told me I'd be getting a decision within a certain timeframe, which passed LAST WEEK.

Acceptances come by snail mail only, which is why people check the ASW trick to find out sooner.intlbr wrote:Thanks! What about acceptances? So, how have they been with scholarships this year?
I didn't send my request in till late march (didn't we realize we had to ask to be considered). Am I sol?
