In via status checker!!!!!! My first T10 acceptance so I am OVER THE MOON! 170 3.57, submitted 1/8.
Question: My partner of 6 years applied to Michigan for a master's program and hasn't heard back yet. Would it be weird to write his admissions committee a letter saying that I've been accepted to the law school and we would both very much like to attend if he were accepted?

No it would not be weird. Another couple on the Duke thread was in a similar situation, and went and spoke to the ad com. They both got in. Good luck to you and CONGRATS on the acceptance.fallingup wrote:In via status checker!!!!!! My first T10 acceptance so I am OVER THE MOON! 170 3.57, submitted 1/8.

Yeah I hear it's not uncommon to approach the adcomm and get in as a couple.curious66 wrote:No it would not be weird. Just as a heads up to everyone admitted. My Dean's Scholarship offer got bumped up by 50% this morning. Michigan was already number two on my list, they just made a real push for number one.

Check your e-mail. If you're a summer starter, your scholarship didn't change, they just updated the first year figure to reflect three semesters instead of two. Mine also went from $15,000 to $22,500 this morning, but my actual award amount hasn't changed.cwid1391 wrote:Just as a heads up to everyone admitted. CORRECTION: No more money has been had. It was only an adjustment for summer start.

I haven't heard of that happening in a while. Maybe they're starting to watch their budget a little more closely now that they've put out so many offers.twinkletoes16 wrote:cwid1391 wrote:CORRECTION: No more money has been had. It was only an adjustment for summer start.

I remember it happening towards the beginning of the cycle. Like, someone would report an offer and then the next week it would be increased a bit. I don't think it's happened in a while, which is why my heart leapt out of my chest when I thought it increased this morning.twinkletoes16 wrote:cwid1391 wrote:CORRECTION: No more money has been had. How long did it take after you were admitted for the financial aid award to show up on the admitted students website? Was it instantaneous or did it take a few days?

It can take up to two weeks (or even more - took me over a month).fallingup wrote:How long did it take after you were admitted for the financial aid award to show up on the admitted students website? Was it instantaneous or did it take a few days?
