Question: My partner of 6 years applied to Michigan for a master's program and hasn't heard back yet. Would it be weird to write his admissions committee a letter saying that I've been accepted to the law school and we would both very much like to attend if he were accepted?

No it would not be weird. Another couple on the Duke thread was in a similar situation, and went and spoke to the ad com. They both got in. Good luck to you and CONGRATS on the acceptance.

No it would not be weird. Another couple on the Duke thread was in a similar situation, and went and spoke to the ad com. They both got in. Good luck to you and CONGRATS on the acceptance.

Yeah I hear it's not uncommon to approach the adcomm and get in as a couple.

Check your e-mail. If you're a summer starter, your scholarship didn't change, they just updated the first year figure to reflect three semesters instead of two. Mine also went from $15,000 to $22,500 this morning, but my actual award amount hasn't changed.

Got an email yesterday that said they could be adjusting the number shown if you are a summer starter.

i hasnt gotten accepted ;( can't complain about $ yet! I'm sure yours will increase

I haven't heard of that happening in a while. Maybe they're starting to watch their budget a little more closely now that they've put out so many offers.

I remember it happening towards the beginning of the cycle. Like, someone would report an offer and then the next week it would be increased a bit. I don't think it's happened in a while, which is why my heart leapt out of my chest when I thought it increased this morning.

It can take up to two weeks (or even more - took me over a month).

anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks. just keep checking that and your mail
