No idea if there's any truth to it, but there are enough of us early applicants above both 75ths who are still waiting to make me wonder.

And as someone who is sitting in fear in Yale purgatory right now, I definitely hate their admissions process the most :cry:

Just placed in the "Reserve" group. Is this a waitlist or a hold?

Either way, I was a marginal candidate so I'm not too bummed.

Just read the second page (oops) and it sounds like a WL. They'll look again at the end of May.

I was well below the LSAT 25% but above the GPA 75%, so I guess reverse splitter would have been more accurate. Already in at NYU so I'll live.

Sorry to all the reserve people, but congrats on not getting dinged. I found the blog post below, but it may be a little outdated.

Between Harvard JS1s, NYU scholarships, and Columbia reserve emails, I've spent half the day refreshing my inbox incessantly hoping for an email and the other half hiding from my inbox in terror. I'm very confused.

no. reserve=WL for columbia. if you're WL'd you get re-reviewed end of may/June (1st of 3 rounds for the reserve group).

I'm okay with this outcome. Means probably holding off on signing a lease until then, but I have no issue eating a deposit to get into Columbia.

Reserve is basically CLS's WL. Starting in May I think they periodically cut people from reserve; they did at least two cuts last year (maybe three). CLS traditionally pulls close to 0 people from reserve though so it's pretty much just a soft ding.

Marginally better than a straight up reject, I guess. I submitted a LOCI through their online update portal thing -- I guess I'll email them again come...spring.

Hey guys, sorry about the holds and reserves. The latter is not necessarily the end though.. at least two people from my UG got off reserve and into Class of 2015 last year.

Would you mind giving Complete dates so the rest of us know when to expect these emails? :)

Reserved, too. I don't get why they don't just call it waitlist. These schools really need to come up with ONE term for each action they torture us with.

Surprised I wasn't outright rejected -- maybe because I went to columbia undergrad? Who knows....

I went complete in early November.
