thank you guys! I've decided not to go~just too expensive. A student can hold me on April 7 but won't be able to leave till April 8.

If i have already registered, do you think I need to write to them saying that I cannot come any more? would love Northwestern purple shirt though, the one in the greeting email sent before Christmas:)

Congrats! I didn't think this tweet from johann meant they were starting to release decisions: "beginning to warm-up the hold list: consider this the warning before the last call warning."

Time to start getting nervous - sent all three hold essays, an LOCI, and a CPE. Hope it's enough!

Just got my held acceptance as well, after two essays and a LOCI at the end of march. (PM for dates or numbers)

Anyone think it's possible to negotiate to the nice scholly offered for people deferring for work experience? I love Chicago and northwestern is pretty amazing in the area I want to pursue, but I had already planned on taking this next year off, so a deferral (with scholly!) would be ideal.

It's nice to see movement on the hold list but now I'm pretty nervous. After being held I interviewed, sent 2 CPE's, did one hold essay, and wrote a LOCI.

They also sent me an email about Friday being the last day to submit that stuff.

I'm assuming that getting that email means I'm not in the first batch of hold admits, but maybe I'm looking into it too much.

Well, for me, it came after someone already got a hold acceptance so that's why I thought that it might not have been.

I got mine 13 mins ago which is over an hour after the first acceptance was reported

Well just got a "all grant money have been given" email. Any money at all would have made it a slam dunk choice. Is it stupid if even at sticker I'm leaning toward NW over 84k from WUSTL?

Not if you're ok with the debt. NW opens up tons more doors than WUSTL.

+1. I don't love that law schools love to combine their need and merit. I think they're two totally different things.

Still might try to make a case for getting the deferral scholarship, but I don't know if they'll even get back to me considering what previous posters have reported.

Northwestern is a great school though and even at sticker it is a huge contender.

I don't think it's stupid if you have good reason and realize that it is a decision likely to leave you with debt for a much longer period of time.
