3/11 DR. If this was a mass WL/rejection wave so they can reconsider us over the summer, I don't get why created some self-imposed deadline for themselves in the first place. UW and plenty others traditionally take until the end of April, I'm not quite sure why this year was different.

I've yet to receive anything myself...I have a suspicion that we aren't going to wind up getting notice until the end of next week the way things have been going.

My brother just called me from the house and I got my decision letter today! I forbade him from opening it but he said it was a big envelope

My letter was mailed 3/11. Good luck everyone!

Oh god, I hope they don't plan on mailing it or we may never get it. Anyone have any idea of what the cutoffs would be for merit money. Anyone have any idea if they negotiate to try and match offers. The whole separate application process seems like a way to get around having to play that game which is very unfortunate and very frustrating.

Yeah I'm not a fan either. My essay definitely could've been better, but I was vaguely insulted by the need when I'm already in top 20 with $$$$. At this point i'd rather negociate than beg. I just need some sort of initial offer so there is even anything to negociate.

Thanks all! It was indeed an admittance folder. A little ticked that my letter was addressed to a 'Brett' (not even CLOSE to my actual name), but all in all I really have no reason to complain. Otherwise, ASDs on April 8 and May 6, deadline deposit of $100 on May 1.

I have it down to UW, Davis and BC. UW comes up with some $$ and it's likely settled. Good luck, everyone.

DR 03/11, Mailing 03/11. Nothing today (I live in the SF Bay Area).

Part of me wants to take this as a good sign, because maybe acceptance packets take longer. But the other part of me is trying not to set myself up for disappointment (this is a reach for me).

At least working full-time curtails my obsessive-compulsiveness with checking the mailbox.
...On the other hand, work does go by so much slower.

Hey guys (and girls), I have a few quick non-acceptance related questions for my fellow prospective UWers. Does anyone know how good UW is in getting their students employed after graduation? I know the new USNews ranking gave them an employment statistics in the 80%, which is decent, but does anyone else have any other insight on this? Will a UW JD degree only be good for the state of Washington, or do you think it can carry its weight to nearby states, or perhaps even to Texas? (I'm from Texas, that's why I want to know) Thanks!

UW is a terrible place to go if you want to work in TX. The career outlook is decent within WA, OR, ID,AK (i.e. PNW). Once you get to CA or CO markets you will start seeing far fewer UW grads and it would be tougher to find a job. If you are looking to go somewhere outside of the western states you are almost certainly better off going somewhere else.
