this applies to me as well, except reverse-splitastic.fathergoose wrote:If you apply ED with a 166+ it's almost certain you will get in and receive some significant $$. It doesn't really matter how low your gpa is, they find enough people with good gpas to keep the median up.timmah427 wrote:Considering I got 25k per in the first wave with a 166, 3.1, I'm very surprised with a lot of the numbers that are being waitlisted... I'm guessing most of them are people who applied after the ED deadline?
SMUs medians are higher than peer schools but they do it by letting in yahoos (like me) with splitastic numbers.

It's scary how the low the pass rate was. Not sure what could have caused it, but it is definitely going to keep me locked away studying alllll summer.

ED does seem to be a bigger deal than I expected. I remember looking at the numbers of people getting accepted in Jan while I was filling out my RD application and feeling pretty confident, only to get waitlisted this week (as confirmed by a letter today, that it wasn't just someone leaning on the wrong side of the keyboard to update my status online)

Re: SMU 2011
i applied on the regular deadline with 3.2 UGPA, 173 LSAT, got 76k. But the LSAT probably made up for any lateness in my cycle.

I was mad at people who wanted to chat before the exam while I was trying to tab that beast so I could find stuff quicker.
Also, thank God we decided, an hour before the exam, to do a quick review of privity in leases.

I was reading that NYT article about people losing scholarships, and buried in it was the fact that LSAT / GPA medians are worth about 22% of the USNWR ranking, while bar passage rate is about 2%.

What do you mean by "not working?" Are you unable to load the log-in page or are you unable to log-in?

It should be working, did you try going back law.smu.edu and accessing it through the prospective students page, check application status?

I think the whole LSAC status check server is down. It isn't just SMU.bebe wrote:when i click on the link it redirects me to a message saying

Re: SMU 2011
I thought I'd wait a few days to give the mail some time to arrive, but I still haven't received a letter from SMU. What did the letter say? I'm about to send in my LOCI, and I wanted to know if it gave any criteria or anything else about joining an official wait list.AutoF0cus wrote:ED does seem to be a bigger deal than I expected. Edit: nevermind, I got it finally in the mail 5 minutes ago.

Me too. 162 / 3.2 didn't get my app "complete" until 3/25 so that hurt but lsac and Smu messed up my report supposedly.
