Re: Stanford 2010!!!
I actually don't know the Stanford dorm buildings by name, so I had to google it. Yes, I know that building (a friend of mine lived there a few years ago) and I do like it.managamy wrote:You must like our dorm Roble then.Dignan wrote:
As far as my aesthetic biases, I think part of the issue is that I've lived in California my whole life. I get tired of California architecture; I am more attracted to the classic look of the older East Coast campuses, like Cornell and Columbia (though the latter has perhaps the ugliest law school building in the United States). Still, none of this is very important to me. I mean, I'd pick Stanford over Harvard for law school, so I obviously like the school!

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
When my Ivy-loving parents saw Roble, they felt at home immediately. I used to wonder if Stanford built this architectural anomaly in order to make stiff, reluctant East Coasters feel that they could flourish there.Dignan wrote:I actually don't know the Stanford dorm buildings by name, so I had to google it. Kudos to you for bothering to google it.

In at SLS--Call from Faye Deal at 11:09 East Coast time today letting me know that an acceptance packet was being mailed. Wasn't expecting to hear from them for at least two months, kind of in shock right now.
Good luck to everyone else.

Thanks! 4.03/175 retake. In undergrad, non-URM. Good rec's but no ridiculous softs--like I said, i'm kind of in shock.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:Wow congrats!! Re: Stanford 2010!!!
I'm not even complete yet (despite submitting in mid-October) because my stupid study abroad institution took FOREVER to send my transcript to LSAC. Is there a big advantage in applying early for Stanford?

Almost spit coffee all over the keyboard. My 2% chance at Stanford is still giving me butterflies in my stomach.
Seriously Dean Faye. I'm on the west coast and wide awake. Don't worry about calling early!

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
From my personal experience (at least last year) people who got in early were those who had very strong numbers competitive for H and Y. The people who didn't have as strong numbers heard back months later.
So if you don't hear from Faye this month don't give up hope!
I had forgotten that I applied to SLS until I heard in April.

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
This will be brutal. I almost hate LSP for classifying me as an "Admit" for Stanford, when I know in reality my chances aren't great. It's giving me unrealistic hope...Kretzy wrote:I'm so ready to spend the next 4 months not hearing back from places like Stanford.violaboy wrote:Looking forward to another day of no calls from more schools that I applied to.
