Another non-Stanford UG here. Spent 6 years in the south Bay though, and would love to go back. If college has taught me anything, it is that NorCal>SoCal.

As far as my aesthetic biases, I think part of the issue is that I've lived in California my whole life. I get tired of California architecture; I am more attracted to the classic look of the older East Coast campuses, like Cornell and Columbia (though the latter has perhaps the ugliest law school building in the United States). Still, none of this is very important to me. I mean, I'd pick Stanford over Harvard for law school, so I obviously like the school!

I actually don't know the Stanford dorm buildings by name, so I had to google it. Yes, I know that building (a friend of mine lived there a few years ago) and I do like it.

When my Ivy-loving parents saw Roble, they felt at home immediately. I used to wonder if Stanford built this architectural anomaly in order to make stiff, reluctant East Coasters feel that they could flourish there.

From my personal experience (at least last year) people who got in early were those who had very strong numbers competitive for H and Y. The people who didn't have as strong numbers heard back months later.

So if you don't hear from Faye this month don't give up hope!

I had forgotten that I applied to SLS until I heard in April.

This will be brutal. I almost hate LSP for classifying me as an "Admit" for Stanford, when I know in reality my chances aren't great. It's giving me unrealistic hope...
