Anyone know how much they weigh "additional accomplishments" versus GPA and LSAT? I don't have similar achievements as they list. Do I stand a chance?

To people who have been admitted, what date is the admissions office giving you all as the deadline to submit the first seat deposit?

Does anyone know if 2nd committee read is generally a good thing? I went through the thread for last year's applicants and it seemed most people who got to 2nd committee read were admitted. Thanks for the help!

Awesome! Thanks for the advice.kade wrote:If you can get into some t14s, they are great too for negotiations, but be sure to articulate persuasively why you want to come to USC and LA. They may be looking for ties or interest of living in the region. Being WLed at ucla sounds like yield protection--I recommend emailing a LOCI and calling the admissions office to ask to schedule an interview.Tempo wrote:I've been waitlisted at UCLA, but my numbers are pretty good (3.7/171), and I really hope USC will accept me. Because I got waitlisted there, am I out of luck for negotiations? Or, if I'm fortunate enough to get into some t14 schools, will those work as negotiations too?
I'm sure USC will take you with your numbers. Good luck!

Same, except 10/21. It was the same situation with vanderbilt (albeit they don't do any UR posts) and I ended up with a WL today so I'm beginning to feel like this long wait is a bad signBirdLawExpert wrote:Pretty much the same, interested in an answer.Draconem wrote:Complete since 11/18. Edit: just did a scan of recent acceptances on LSN. Looks like reverse splitters have been accepted more readily while higher LSATs and lower GPAs are still waiting. Not looking good for splitters

By published, do you mean in academic journals? I have research published in an academic journal. I plan to list that on the resume. Or is published more like "I wrote a NY Times bestseller".
Hoping for the best

I'm not sure how much weight are given to journal publications. The 1-2 Rothmans I have known were selected for the business-related experiences and absolute stellar undergrad credentials i.e. literally the best awards given by their very large undergrads. On the plus side, at least one of the Rothmans was K-JD, so you certainly don't need loads of real work experience.87mm wrote:kade wrote:Splinter's description sounds pretty accurate to me as well.SemiReverseSplinter wrote:USC law student here. If you have good numbers, a publication, a pleasant interview personality, and some unique (e.g. not student gov't) undergrad experiences, I would not hesitate to give the Rothman a shot.

Re: USC c/o 2019 Applicants Thread (2015-2016)
Thanks for the insight. My numbers arent the best but w.r.t my undergrad institution its solid. Most of my uniqueness comes from my work experience and graduate work. I'll still apply. I 100% wont get the scholarship if I dont apply.SemiReverseSplinter wrote:I'm not sure how much weight are given to journal publications.
