I got the letter with the scholarship today. I'm >75 GPA <25 LSAT. Congrats!

Has anyone had any luck with trying to negotiate scholarships?

Has anyone heard back about the PELE clinic fellowship?

Regarding earlier discussion about fellowships, I learned from the admissions office that there are no fellowships this year besides the ones you could apply for with your application, which from what I've heard/read on past TLS forums is a change from years past.

Did they happen to mention if all of the decisions regarding those application-specific fellowships have been released?

Admitted with $.

Just finished the Statement of Intention. I withdrew from admission. I hope I could clear a spot for someone out there who is still waiting for a decision, with some $ of course.

Just a quick question. After I submit the Statement of Intention, should I email the admission office as well about withdrawing?

I just withdrew my offer of admission. Hopefully my decision will help someone on the waitlist.

Attended ASW. Williamsburg is smaller than imagined.

Created an account literally to say this. I attended ASW, really liked the school, the folks I spoke with, and the professors who spoke on Saturday but was really shocked by how small Williamsburg is. It's kind of weird? Or that might not be the right way to put it but it's a bit jarring to have the colonial tourist stuff right there.

Agreed... I went out to eat after we finished on Saturday and it was a little disconcerting having a horse and buggy followed by cows being walked to pasture pass by me while I worked on my laptop. Really enjoyed ASW but it's a weird little place lol. I stayed in a hotel five minutes away in a part of town that seemed a lot more suburban so maybe it's just that little pocket.

There are downsides to it being a small town (namely, not as concentrated w/ law jobs as a city like Richmond). But me personally, I love it. There's not a lot to distract you on the weekends, but there's enough that if you want to do something, you can. As to ASW, I really enjoyed it as well.

Yeah I can understand that. "Downtown" was really nice and I definitely liked the vibe, it was just very foreign from everywhere else I've been. The community seemed very friendly and down to earth and i feel like that was reflected in the town as well. Glad everyone seemed to have a good time last weekend!

My undergrad was in a rather isolated environment as well--single intersection town, etc--and it didn't phase me, I really loved it. I think the Williamsburg thing was jarring primarily because of how aggressively antiquated and tourist it feels. But that's it's point and I should have known that going in to ASW I suppose. Glad to read that other people found more suburban/lively areas as well.

For those of you who went to the admitted students day... How were the other students there? Friendly/nice? Or stuck up? I've heard mixed things just want to get it cleared up! Thanks :)

Edit: I have a friend who goes there and he said that's how the environment kind of is. Perhaps he meant the professors or staff etc

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
