Or will it suffice to drink heavily and only leave my room when my grades and/or life depend on it?

I think I'm fine with that - I won't lie, winter is actually one of the reasons I fled the states to begin with... Part of me thinks I should at least ease my way back in (like DC-type weather), but I'm trying to convince myself that weather shouldn't affect my law school decision. The struggle is real.Hildegard15 wrote:Based on my parents' experiences at Cornell, I think drinking heavily is the most common choice amongst students.ltbenn wrote:...so I will want to die for the entirety of November-March?mynameiskevin wrote:It's not as bad as you think if you expect the North Pole. Weather sucks from December to March, but given how much time you spend inside (thereby leading to considerably small doses of cold), it's tolerable. Fall in Ithaca and Spring in Ithaca, however, are good. Particularly fall. In the end, winter is awful anywhere you go (unless you are in Miami). The degree of awfulness is negligible after you cross certain threshold.ltbenn wrote: I think I'm fine with that - I won't lie, winter is actually one of the reasons I fled the states to begin with... Moreover, if you live in Hughes or 13 South you mitigate the effects of the cold, too.
Edit: i'm originally from a warm weather state (think crazy people and zombies on bath salts)

FYI, I'm pretty sure that--based on the minutes of the last faculty meeting posted in that bulletin board on G--this is finally the summer where they begin converting Hughes into school space, so it likely won't be available for them.runthetrap1990 wrote:Moreover, if you live in Hughes or 13 South you mitigate the effects of the cold, too.

Do fee waivers tend to be released in waves, or do they trickle out sporadically? If in waves does anyone know when the last was or when we could expect the next? Thanks.

Is anyone actually under review or does yours still say "ready for review" like mine?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Any of you folks submit a "Why Cornell?" essay? If so, how long was it?

Awesome! Is Cornell known for being less generous with their unsolicited waivers? I have received one from 4 schools all ranked above Cornell, but still none from themfrazzledandbedazzled wrote:Was planning to apply without a waiver, but I just got one via email! Hoping to submit tonight

From my experience, they weren't willing to give me a waiver when I tried to solicit one, but I'm not sure about their generosity when it comes to unsolicited waivers...Hopefully yours is coming!!

Thanks! I actually think I got lucky with the other ones (or they are just really looking to improve their acceptance rates), because my lsat score (will retake) is far below median at all those schools.frazzledandbedazzled wrote:LetsGoNow wrote:Awesome! Hi everybody! What's with the "Influenced to Apply" section on the app? I don't know any alum from Cornell and my decision to apply isn't based on people but rather info from the interwebz. What did you all do?

is there not an electronic application or am i an idiot? lsac only gives me a paper option, and then there is nothing to print. I think this is just preemptive rejection on the part of the law school but I want to make sure.
