Do you think this year will be special and they'll offer admission at the end of the interview and we'll all be super excited and give three cheers for Chicago and live happily ever after?urbanist11 wrote:Past years I think first acceptances were Dec/JanJames.K.Polk wrote:Same as others - Submitted day 1, scheduled for a week from today.Dcc617 wrote:Scheduled for Monday. How long after interviews do decisions normally come out?

Choo choo.James.K.Polk wrote:I dug through last year's, so you don't have to:
Let the hype begin."73 recorded interviews in that sheet out of 167 applicants. 32 accepted with interviews (43.8%). 11 wait-listed (15.1%), 28 decision pending (38.4%), 0 denied. That decision pending number is surely inflated by people who didn't edit to reflect admission. I'd think the actual acceptance percentage is somewhere closer to two-thirds, if we put half of the pending applications in acceptance and half on the wait-list, we'll get 46 (63%) admitted.
Now, going a step further, I sorted by interview request date. 31 applicants received interview invites prior to January 1st. Of those, 5 were wait-listed (16%), 4 are decision pending (13%), and 22 were accepted (71%). Of the five November invites, four were accepted and one is still listed as pending (but was probably accepted).
Hope that helps to shed some light on the situation. I was surprised that there were only five November invites in the spreadsheet last year -- seems like we already have more than that this year. No October invites are listed on last year's sheet."

I know a lot of people who were admitted who had dopey answers. You should be somewhat prepared in terms of what you want to say, but mostly you should treat it like an audition for how you'll be in job interviews/in class. Meaning, be professional, be pleasant, be polite. That's key. The substance of your answers is less important than your ability to seem normal.

FWIW Dean Gardner today said our employment numbers for 2/3Ls were up "a couple of percentage points".

I like that Chicago's application complete email has puppies on it.
