I just finished my interview! Honestly I have no idea how it went. They didn't bring up any issues with my application, so I have NO idea why they wanted to talk to me. It was my first interview but the questions seemed pretty standard - asked about law and UCLA, work history since graduation, overcoming obstacles, etc. etc. I definitely floundered at a couple points. We'll see! Their Fast Track deadline is Monday, so I should know soon. Nervous!lawschool1741 wrote:How'd this go?!mwonka wrote:I submitted via Fast Track last week and now they're asking for a Skype interview TOMORROW. Has this happened to anyone else? I didn't know UCLA did interviews. . .

Dang, I've been waiting since mid-November. I guess Fast Track was the way to go!mwonka wrote:Thank youhuskies2015 wrote:Congrats! When did you apply?mwonka wrote:Just got the call! Admitted.

Can confirm. FT was amazeballs, ended up making one of my last applications submitted one of the first to be decided.huskies2015 wrote: Dang, I've been waiting since mid-November. I guess Fast Track was the way to go!

I totally sympathize with your position, huskies, as I'm still floating around in Duke's non-PT purgatory and probably will be for the rest of forever. Law school admissions are cruel! But no news isn't bad news, right?

Is this UCLA's first year of doing FT? Any theories as to what they're trying to accomplish with it--to bump up applications volume or to convince top recruits?lawschool1741 wrote:Can confirm. I suppose if you are of optimistic nature you can say that, but this process is definitely challenging that idea. I'm above both medians with at least average softs so I don't understand the hold up, but oh well, the waiting game continues!mwonka wrote:Same here.lawschool1741 wrote:Can confirm. And sorry about Duke, I haven't heard back from them either yet.

My guess is more of the latter. Also, they have a nice case study from Duke's seeming success with it, so why not?monkeyKT wrote: Is this UCLA's first year of doing FT? Any theories as to what they're trying to accomplish with it--to bump up applications volume or to convince top recruits?

Same here; I applied priority track (went complete 1/12), interviewed yesterday, and was accepted today. Having to interview definitely took me by surprise, but I'm definitely happy with the fast turnaround of PT

Congrats! It seems they are interviewing more frequently now, maybe a YP measure?jrc223 wrote: Same here; I applied priority track (went complete 1/12), interviewed yesterday, and was accepted today. That's what I thought, maybe. They did hit the why-UCLA question pretty hard.lawschool1741 wrote:Congrats! Submitted today, hate that there isn't going to be a tracker. How long does it take to get the "received" email?

Yeah, my interviewer definitely emphasized "why law" (probably because I'm K-JD) and "why UCLA?"mwonka wrote:That's what I thought, maybe. Is it a bad sign to not have had any requests for interviews or heard anything since received if i'm on the fast track and went complete a week ago?

The interviews are pretty sporadic, and I didn't even get asked for mine until a week after going complete. I think you're just fine.monkeyKT wrote:Is it a bad sign to not have had any requests for interviews or heard anything since received if i'm on the fast track and went complete a week ago?
