I have 1/2 to 3/4 to San Diego, Oregon, Lewis and Clark, Denver, Colorado, SMU
Full to Penn State

Pending Scholarships at Richmond, American, UC Hastings, Boston College, and Wake Forest

Also been accepted to teach for america with an extended commit deadline, basically so I can use it to negotiate.

Big Market. Its very good in Oil and Gas Law. I want to specialize in water law, and oil and gas ties in nicely to water.

I submitted on 12/10 and was complete a week later. Is it too early to be hearing back? 4.0 with an almost complete (will graduate in May) M.S. in bioethics- also a 4.0. 150 on LSAT without studying at all, which I know isn't great. I was pre-med, started the M.S., got hooked on health law. Lots of leadership experience, alumni at SMU, and work at a law firm in downtown Dallas as a legal assistant right now.

You will not get in with a 150. (Thank God.) They don't give a shit about your background or difficulty of your degree or anything like that. Softs do not get factored into their law school ranking. All that matters is your LSAT and UGPA.

Put some effort into studying, retake, and apply next cycle.

FWIW, they allow you to submit your other scholarships for reconsideration. It's just that no one I know from the previous two cycles, including myself, has been successful. The process listed above is the same as last year. They do have a new dean this year though so maybe things have changed.

Im not admissions officer, but I'd say you're not gonna get in with that LSAT. Retake that.. don't waste a 4.0

I actually think he will get in with that LSAT... which is even worse because a 4.0 screams out for a retake with an LSAT that low.

For the record, I was not speaking without anecdotal information that at least one person had recently gotten in (even with money) in that LSAT and GPA range (in the day program, even, for those who believe that SMU uses the PT program to try to accept students with lower numbers). Additionally, the ASAP program has as one of its criteria for participation those who score below a certain LSAT score (I think it's 154), implying that there are indeed students with lower LSATs.

20k. I'm leaning toward Houston schools because of the area I want to practice. I only applied to Dallas schools (including UNT...) to humor my DFW-residing parents.

I'm sorta torn on whether I should have them hold my application until my February LSAT, or take the chance on just leaving it and hoping I get the $$ i need. I feel like, if I was to wait until Feb, the $$$ would be gone...

But either way, she told me to expect decisions to start coming out early spring or before. So I'm assuming that means like the 2nd-3rd week of February on.

Hypothetically, say you went from a 165 to a 175 and have a 4.0 LSDAS GPA - they wouldn't budge and essentially lose a 175/4.0? I doubt it.

I don't think they like to negotiate with other schools' award offers, but if it's strictly an increase in numbers, there shouldn't be a reason for them to not negotiate.

Just score high enough to make them increase it; obviously easier said than done lol
