So far, only email/mail. I have a feeling schools won't call for internationals, because with timezones it could be really wonky. But I'm not sure.yc820 wrote:To all those who have been admitted by some LS, did you get the call or simply the email?

Re: International Applicants 2014-15
People, I have gotten an email from Georgetown saying the following:
"Good morning from your nation’s capital! I’m delighted to once again congratulate you on your admission to Georgetown Law. Over the coming months, we will be keeping in touch in a variety of ways to let you know about upcoming events here on campus, deadlines you may be facing and just to keep you informed of Georgetown news."
Now the thing is this is the first time they ve sent me an email. I am confused as to why it says, "I'm delighted to ONCE AGAIN congratulate you". You havnt congratulated me before! Secondly, DC is not my nation's capital. I m international applicant, remember?
Then as far as I know Georgetown has been taking interviews, and I never got an invite for that. Do you people think this email could ve been sent to me by mistake?

Re: International Applicants 2014-15
Maybe they call US applicants originally notifying them of admission, and then send one standard e-mail to everyone (including internationals)?
Also, I was under the impression that the Georgetown interview wasn't a prerequisite to acceptance, although I'm not sure sorry!
Congrats (I don't think it was a mistake)!

Haha I don't think you need to worry too much. I think Pylon's guess might be right--they may call on people re acceptances in the States. Also, maybe the email was a mass-mail to all those who were accepted. (And I suppose the majority of the mass mail recipients live in the US, hence 'your capital')adeel wrote:People, I have gotten an email from Georgetown saying the following:

Congratulations by the way! Great start to the cycle, with an acceptance already under your belt.

I'm in China as well, still waiting for my Michigan package sent 17 days agoAnastasiaBeaverhausn wrote:Checking in! Thanks OP! Really sweet to have this thread for international applicants.
Had my undergrad in China, a few years of WE.
So I was wondering in general how long does it take for the admission packets to arrive at our place. Was admitted into a school about twenty days ago. Msg on the status checker said a packet was already on its way yet the last time I checked mailbox was still empty. I assume that international snail mails would take extra time but would be nice to have an idea of what to expect.
Best of luck guys! December should be witnessing quite a few waves of admissions...I hope...

How good might be WUSTL for internationals? They have given me an offer I might not be to able to refuse. And I dnt think any other school in the top 20 bracket might be able to match that.

I guess it depends on where you want to work. If you plan on staying in the states then you'll need a big law to support your visa, and T14 is better at placing students in big law. If you're going back to your home country and can find a good job with your degree then WUSTL on a full ride should be a decent choice.adeel wrote:How good might be WUSTL for internationals? Do you think our actual scores(other than the CAS evaluation) would matter for HYS(and probably B)?
I'm asking because I don't feel very confident about my UG transcript although I was given a superior...

I believe a superior is all you need to prove great UG performance, especially if your school is famous for having strict grading.yc820 wrote:Do you think our actual scores(other than the CAS evaluation) would matter for HYS(and probably B)?

You said you're from top 2 university in your country, so I think a superior from such institution will suffice for the adcommsyc820 wrote:Do you think our actual scores(other than the CAS evaluation) would matter for HYS(and probably B)?

Re: International Applicants 2014-15
Checking in, everyone!
TLS is kinda awesome -- it makes you feel like you're "leveling up" as you progress along your way to lawyer-ship. I started my lurking around LSAT prep board over a year ago, spent the better half of this year on the admissions thread (mostly lurking), and I came to this board for the first time today. Hopefully I'll be able to post on some school-specific threads soon, too
I am "doubly" international (both non-citizen and no American uGPA), took the LSAT 3 times to finally get the score I wanted (low-mid 170s), and have a "superior" from a top-3 university in Korea. I've weak softs, but my resume isn't blank so hopefully won't be too much of a negative factor. I applied to most T14 schools with more fee waivers than not but did leave a few out. I ended up applying early-to-mid December. I know it's pretty late by TLS standards, but on the whole, I guess I'm not out of the running.
Hope to get to know more of y'all and your application woes in the weeks and months to come!

Re: International Applicants 2014-15
Quick question, though I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be on this thread. Which comes first: the acceptance e-mail or the change to status in your application status checker? That is, do I need to keep checking the status checker kinda-but-not-really obsessively or should I just wait for a notification e-mail?
The reason I'm asking is that I check twice or so(?) a day - once when I wake up and sometime in the evening (yay, time difference!) - using the link I was provided in the emails schools send out. What I noticed was that the URL connects my e-mail address to it, making me wonder if schools 1) can see how often (read: obsessively) you check your status, and if yes, 2) if that might *somehow* negatively affect your chances.
I know, I'm probably worrying over nothing but I swear I've seen crazier questions on admissions threads...

Don't worry. If they judge people by the number of times they check their statuses, then I would've gotten rejected everywhere.altf4 wrote:Quick question, though I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be on this thread. Apparently schools CAN see how many times you check your SC if they want to, although I don't know if that was verified or not. I also don't think it would have an impact on your application either in a positive or negative way.
Although I wish it gave a boost to your application - I'm already checking nonstop, might as well get something out of it.

The status checker update will likely come first (although it depends on the school), and then a day or a few days letter the e-mail will come. So you don't NEED to keep checking it kinda-but-not-really obsessively, but by all means go for it!altf4 wrote:Which comes first: the acceptance e-mail or the change to status in your application status checker? OK good, because I was more or less lying about the twice a day thing. Hahaha I feel your pain. Not sure about all of your timezones, but for me it's in the middle of the night for law schools while I'm at work... I still check it obsessively. :$altf4 wrote: It's been a long and difficult 3 hours since my last check, so I'm going to go do that again...

Don't worry, I check 100x an hour via command+R (note: macbook); if you think you're excessive, my paranoid bordering on OCD tendencies should ease your worries as I've not been rejected from anywhere yet!altf4 wrote:The reason I'm asking is that I check twice or so(?) a day - once when I wake up and sometime in the evening (yay, time difference!) - using the link I was provided in the emails schools send out. And welcome! Exactly the same situation as you--doubly international (GPA and nationality wise; S.Korean too and in Seoul), retook the LSATs to reach my goal of 170+! (But I received my undergrad degree from the UK, so that's a bit different)
So many Koreans! You know, before I started my undergrad in London, we did a meet-up in Seoul in the summer; I hope we can do that for law schools after we all get accepted to our target schools! That would be too cool as I don't know anyone currently attending law schools in the States. (They've all graduated

Same here. It's close to midnight when the East Coast schools come to work, and by the time I wake up, they've all packed and left their offices. I still check numerous times during the day. It's all very pointless but oddly satisfying... (I mean, what else can you do, not check??)pylon wrote:Hahaha I feel your pain.
