Yep, you answered your own question. They would much rather have a 177/4.0 reach out to them to apply, because it is a substantial indicator that said person has a particular reason to want to be at their 165/3.5 school.Failing to see the logic in this. Are they scared to YP? Or having trouble identifying who to YP? I guess applying without a fee waiver could be a marking of interest, but it could also just be a marker of having too much money.

If we're all really interested in this, maybe Spivey would be willing to give us some advice?
I'd love to hear his perspective on this!

Love that document, it's so helpful! I read through the interview section and skimmed other sections, but it doesn't look like our scenario (visiting a school) was addressed. Because Spivey has been active in this thread, I thought he might just see this and answer it, but I'll repost this in his thread.xylocarp wrote:+1, everyone should read the PDF in the OP of that thread.Attax wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=197451lilyt93 wrote:If we're all really interested in this, maybe Spivey would be willing to give us some advice?I'd love to hear his perspective on this!

I can't release the data until tomorrow or I'll stop getting the data (no good!), but its the final (essentially) 2013/14 cycle data including LSAT bandwidths and schools + or - in applications. It's pretty cool stuff, alas no June LSAT stuff which should be coming publically any day now and which I will also tweet.Learn_Live_Hope wrote:I don't like the teasing Spivey!MikeSpivey wrote:You guys beat me to the punch, I should snoop around here more often.

I also attended the DC LSAC forum and met some people there, it was pretty amazing~blue182king wrote:Hey all,
That 8% drop sounds about right. Last month, I listened in on an MSU webinar on the admissions process and the assistant dean mentioned that the number of applicants are projected to go down 6%-8% from last cycle. (He must know something.)
Also, if anyone wants to know how the DC LSAC Forum went, just PM me. If there is going to be one in a city near you, I suggest you attend. I was even able to listen in on a workshop with one of the LSAT question writers.

TY Mike! I'm interested (obviously) to see how Texas does since the LSN data seems to imply very few people were in who were less than last year's LSAT median. I'm gonna predict a 168.

My interpretation was he was releasing number of total applicants for the cycle and number of LSAT's given.

Medians don't really get finalized until the academic year starts and schools lock down who actually enrolled. I believe last year schools started releasing stats for their incoming classes in late August.Learn_Live_Hope wrote:When do we find out the medians?
Also: best of luck to everyone who's applying this year -- I hope you all have great cycles!
