Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Prior threads from couple years ago say that it's somewhere around 100 for PWL and 200 for WL. However, I think that number varies based on year to year.
Also, I think after a certain point (after first or second seat deposit), the PWL/WL distinctions become meaningless and your chances are more based on the school's specific need from individual applicants.

Good luck to everyone this week. I guess we should have a better idea by Friday at 5:00 PM.

All quiet on the PWL/WL front. No offers yet, eh?

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Hey everyone
I have heard nothing yet................I am new to this forum this is my first post and I have been following silently for a while, I was put on the regular waiting list in early March/late Feb, I interview with the dean in early May, I got one mail saying they were interested in my candidacy and asking me to reply on whether or not I would attend if accepted, my lsat is 169 and my gpa is 2.67 making this the semester of endless wait lists for me. I got one more email saying I was at the top of the list if space was to open and I would hear back by June 6th, if not earlier. So here I am, June 5th (my birthday btw lol ) constantly refreshing my browser
and checking my yahoo mail

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
This is pure speculation but according to previous years, there are usually a few people admitted from the WL before the notification dates. They tend to make acceptances first and give the people that are still on WL a later notification date. This cycle repeats until August with each cycle applicants get taken off the WL and others withdrawing.
The fact that it's silent this round could only mean two things:
1) their deposits were stronger than previous years and they are capped.
2) their deposits were very weak and they are extending deadlines for admits prior to filling their spots from the WL.
With the decline in apps, I can't imagine why their deposits would be any stronger this year compared to prior years so it's probably the second reason.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Got the fishing email after 5pm Eastern. It said:
"let me know if you’re ready to come to Georgetown if we’re able to admit you"
Private message for more detail. I'm not going to reveal whole message publicly in case the admissions staff looks at this blog since I haven't been officially offered anything officially.

At least we're all in the same boat with hearing nothing. I got the generic update last time around (not the "you're at the top of our list") and am regular WL so I'm not too hopeful. Luckily I'm a DC local so I can wait it out all the way to August.

On their last e-mail it said, "We will be back in touch with you for sure no later than June 6th, and probably before."SparkyZZZ wrote:10 hours to go...
And you just know they're not going to have decisions for us today....grrrrr.

Is anyone else unable to login to the status checker?
....not a good sign, probably.

I logged in fine just now. Not that I'm taking that as a good sign, however.Question Everything wrote:Is anyone else unable to login to the status checker?

I can get in. However, I think I am quite a long-shot, so if I can and you can't, then it might be a good sign for you.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
I don't know why you guys think that we will receive a decision today. All the email said was that we would be updated on or before June 6. I'd love it if they just straight up admitted some people today, but that doesn't seem to be the way in which they take people from the waitlist. I really think we're just going to get another email, probably a few different versions- one saying that you should make other plans, one saying its unlikely but possible, and the last saying that you're at the top of the list. Don't get your hopes up just to be let down by another email just saying MORE WAITING

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
Hey guys, just wanted to pass some info along that probably means nothing...but here it is nonetheless.
I got in off the PWL last week, and was told I have until the 9th to make my decision. I received a call on Wednesday asking me if I intended to enroll (I do, just haven't filled all the forms out yet), but the guy on the phone said something like "you don't have to make your decision now, as you have until next week, but we are just trying to get a preliminary head count." To me, that means they were trying to remove the people who definitely won't take a spot in the class. So I hope that means those of you still waiting get in today, or at least one of those "encouraging" emails! Good luck

Nothing here. Maybe they are waiting until Monday, per the admitted applicants post (congrats by the way).

Well, I am going to be an optimist and hope that this means that we all have acceptance letters on their way to our mailboxes....
