I mean that was believable and relevant…if you completely ignore the actual post that invoked the "don't troll the on topics" response:ManoftheHour wrote: Yeah, I getcha. That's true though. What if you were from CO, had a full ride, and had personal reasons to attend (mother/father dying or med school boyfriend/girlfriend doing residency in the area)? Jesus Christ, Nony is basically the only mod that spends any time putting up with y'alls bullshit in the on topics and instead of thanking her, you start this weird anti-mod circlejerk that isn't even remotely funny for a few posts. I have no idea how Nony does it.PourMeTea wrote: I mean I don't share my stats but I am trying to ski

Sorry, everyone, I retract my post (which was directed at Tea). I hadn't seen Tea in here before and had the impression she was pursuing rather different kinds of schools. I shouldn't have done that. For the record, I'm a huge fan of CU, and think it's a great school for lots of people. But there are people here who wouldn't agree, and would consider it a poor top choice for someone with a high LSAT also looking at much higher-ranked schools. I don't agree with that hivemind, but I got defensive and saw it where it didn't actually exist. So I apologize to Tea for making assumptions.
(edit: this is based on a PM, not based on anything said in-thread. Also, thanks, LeDique.)

Yeah, a mother dying in Colorado is pretty much the only reason to attend this school. T-14 or bust, bro.ManoftheHour wrote:Oh. lolPourMeTea wrote:Nah, I think I was being addressed. I was genuinely curious and I thought it was okay. In the ND forum, someone had a 170 and was a URM and was asking a question. One of the recent grads posted, "Why are you applying to ND? If you do not have ties to Colorado, CU is the best way and sometimes the only way you are getting a job in this state. So… I guess no rational person would want to practice law in the state of Colorado? Trolling a law school that is the best in its state, that is full of smart folks (median LSAT 90th percentile), that is ranked in from 35-45 every year is a prime example of why so many people would LOL at TLS in the real world. Yes, oh wise member of the hive, 9/10 law schools are absolute jokes and the thousands of people who graduate from them every year are objectively stupid… Troll away, and keep fighting the good fight on the internet.

Everything exactly. I'm mad but I would still take an acceptance off the waitlist in a heartbeat. Looks like I will be accepting my offer from ASU in the meantime thoughjohannalee wrote:Same here. LOVE getting tons of scholarship money to higher ranked schools with better employment, being in review for months and told constantly "2 more weeks" and then being waitlisted. I was even willing to spend money to go here.
... still accepting the waitlist spot though. But yeah, I'd love an explanation. I'm assuming just a lot of applications, but it still sucks.

Bro, you need to chill out. My question was not one of insult. I was genuinely curious. Tea and I took the same LSAT and were in the same LSAT score waiting groups. I thought she was gunning for T-14 with $$$ so I was just a bit surprised that she posted that this was her top choice. I never came close to saying "LOL, CU is TTT."
A mother sick in the area is a valid reason. So is wanting to move in with your SO and permanently relocating. So is wanting to work in CO when you have no ties. Those are all sufficiently valid reasons. But they are not necessary reasons. Come on. It's LSAT LR 101. WHERE in my post did it say it was the ONLY reason to attend CU? There could be hundreds of reason why one could validly attend CU. Wth. Read man.
Look at the OP (I am the OP):
You don't think I know that CU is a great school if you wanted to work here?ManoftheHour wrote:
Applied 10/30.
I am thinking about a permanent relocation. Visited the state several times and would love to be a part of it post top-law-schools.com.
Why would I apply to and make a waiting thread about a TTT?

Sorry. I read above and thought you were saying all three criteria were needed. Full ride, from CO, dying parent. You used the word "and." You also chimed up in surprise that someone was considering CU, which you've now explained. Anyway I made some bad assumptions.Lord Randolph McDuff wrote:ManoftheHour wrote: What if you were from CO, had a full ride, and had personal reasons to attend (mother/father dying or med school boyfriend/girlfriend doing residency in the area)? Accepted. Probably going to pay my first seat deposit, and consider going. Applied mid-feburary, heard back within a few days of applying. It was my first acceptance, but no scholarship yet. With my numbers, I probably won't get one. Waitlisted at UH which is where I really wanted to go just to make my life easier for personal reasons. Going back and forth so hard on these two schools especially, but Seattle U and Lewis and Clark have me tempted too.
3.8 degree GPA/3.1 Cumulative GPA/155 LSAT/somewhat non-traditional student. PM if you want more detailed info. If you really have something special anything is possible. See my above stats. I've gotten into schools I had no business getting into. Good luck.

Most impressive is probably the 25% in Public Interest. Gotta be one of the highest in the country.
What does the "Education" employment type mean? Do you know by any chance?

Has anyone called the admission office to check in on their application? I went conplete early to mid January, and I'm pretty surprised I haven't heard from them yet. I'm well above the 75% GPA, but I have some very, very strong ties to Boulder and Colorado in general. Is it too early for me to call them?

That category is for graduates that are trying to become academics/professors. Don't think law professors though, with the exception of adjuncts that is a Harvard, Yale, Stanford game. Some in that category might be doing research for a meager salary... Might wanna ask in a different thread though because this is not a topic I'm very familiar with.moralsentiments wrote:Lord Randolph McDuff wrote:Employment is going to be so much better for you class of '17 peps.
