Especially impressive considering you weren't even asked to interview.

Concerning scholarships, the email said: "We are currently in the process of establishing our scholarship plan for the 2014 entering class.... You should receive notification of any award no later than March 1, 2014. In the meantime, if you receive an offer that you think we should discuss before we make our decision, please forward directly to me."
Opinions, please: how early is too early to reply to let them know the offers I've gotten from other schools?

Considering the wording of the email I would get to them ASAP if you have offers you think you can legitimately leverage over them.LShopeful628 wrote:Concerning scholarships, the email said: "We are currently in the process of establishing our scholarship plan for the 2014 entering class.... I wasn't asked to interview. I am about at Wake's median for both. Has anyone sent in scholarships from other schools yet? The email asks that you send other offers that they should consider. Should I just send all the offers I have received, or what have others done?

I think the appropriate strategy is to leverage scholarships with similarly ranked schools. A full ride to Cooley won't sway them to match, obviously. If you don't have anything to leverage yet I'd wait a month and go in with the appropriate ammo.abrahm wrote:I wasn't asked to interview. I am about at Wake's median for both. Of course, this is just my opinion based on what I have seen work for other TLSers. Other opinions are welcome, but this is the strategy I've been employing.

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I've been scholarships to Campbell (27.5/yr), Penn State (full) and Temple (20/yr) and I think my plan of action is to wait until first thing Monday morning to send an email expressing that Wake is my #1 choice pending final cost analysis that contains all other offers. My main reason for waiting until Monday is because I need to get to work so I can scan in my offer letters from other schools (I'm assuming they're not going to just take my word for it?).Nucky wrote:I think the appropriate strategy is to leverage scholarships with similarly ranked schools. Or should I send an email now and send them scans of my letters should they ask?
edit: it's probably worth mentioning that I only applied to the four schools so I'm not waiting for any other decisions.

Just got in!! I'm right below both medians and wasn't asked to interview, so kind of confused but don't want to question it.
YAY congrats everyone so far!

I'd say enjoy the weekend, and your acceptance. Waiting until Monday won't make or break you. Completed my interview two weeks ago, status checker says "interview complete, ready for review". This waiting game is killing me...

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Just finished my video interview. I don't know why I waited to the last minute. Hopefully that doesn't weigh into the decision at all as I'd really like to attend Wake Forest. I don't feel like the questions allowed myself to sell myself to WF as much as I wanted to, and the video interface was definitely nerve-wracking, but overall, I think it went decently!

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Any thoughts on whether or not 90k to Baylor would be considered by wake at all insofar as scholarship decisions? I also have a decent offer to Richmond but I won't have it in writing until March. Any suggestions for negotiations would be VERY appreciated. Wake is my #1 choice but I need a little bit of scholarship money to make it a viable option. Help please!

They may not match it but I think Baylor is ranked high enough that they will take it into account. Good luck!abrahm wrote:Any thoughts on whether or not 90k to Baylor would be considered by wake at all insofar as scholarship decisions? Also, it's important to keep in mind that school's rankings are calculated in part by the % of students who are accepted that actually matriculate so it's in their best interest to do what they can to get you to matriculate. I don't think they'll match bigger scholarships from lower ranked schools, but they will recognize that a full ride elsewhere has the chance of swaying you from accepting their offer. I'd disclose all offers, no matter the rank of the school.Nucky wrote:They may not match it but I think Baylor is ranked high enough that they will take it into account. Hey all! Use TLS'ers need to start figuring out which ASW we're considering and stuff! I think it'd be cool if we could make a big thing of it for us!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
