Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Applied ED, it took a while for them to complete my file. Anyone know when Columbia starts sending out ED results? I know it says early December online, but I thought I read somewhere that some people got their decisions before that.

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Last year the first people heard (acceptances) on the first Monday in December. The rest of the ED acceptances/results trickled out the rest of the month.flyingboy wrote:Applied ED, it took a while for them to complete my file. Edit: What are your numbers, if you don't mind sharing?

I just applied ED as well. With my numbers it's a long shot, but a guy can dream right? (3.47 GPA, 173 LSAT)

I don't think it's that much of a long shot. I'm sure schools will be collecting high LSATs now more than ever.Rangers5 wrote:I just applied ED as well. With my numbers it's a long shot, but a guy can dream right? (3.47 GPA, 173 LSAT)
Also, all of these high-LSAT EDers make me feel good about my high gpa/atrocious LSAT

Didn't seem to last cycle. Many of the first-day admits went complete right around the deadline (11/15).Robert_Bert wrote:does when the app was submitted affect when in december we may hear back?ohpobrecito wrote:Welcome! Went LSAC complete early last week...still no word from Columbia on a status checker. Does it normally take this long?

Believe this was covered a few pages back and maybe in the OP, but Columbia does their own status checker. You can sign up for it here:lawschool22 wrote:Went LSAC complete early last week...still no word from Columbia on a status checker. Does it normally take this long?

It took 2 weeks for me to go complete, just as a reference point

Also, there seems to be a lag between when the status checker goes complete and when you actually get the email confirming the completion.lastsamurai wrote:Believe this was covered a few pages back and maybe in the OP, but Columbia does their own status checker. i'm wondering if there's also a lag time between going lsac complete and columbia acknowledging that they've received an application. I know the site says it can take up to two weeks to process and display new applications, so have ppl found this to be the case?flyingboy wrote:Also, there seems to be a lag between when the status checker goes complete and when you actually get the email confirming the completion.lastsamurai wrote:Believe this was covered a few pages back and maybe in the OP, but Columbia does their own status checker. That would seem to be the case, as I submitted early last week and Columbia has not yet acknowledged it per their status checker.BrianG wrote:i'm wondering if there's also a lag time between going lsac complete and columbia acknowledging that they've received an application. Checking in for my top choice! Anyone know whether or not it's worth it to write a Why Columbia essay? I'm happy to do it, but I don't want to waste my time if they historically have not helped. Thanks!
