3 so far from the boards. I know of one other, a friend of a friend, admitted yesterday.

Congrats! What days are the interviews this time? I don't understand this development as not all the first round interviewees have heard back yet.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Anybody else just get an invite to talk with the Selection Committee?

I was under the assumption that these vetting calls were only to gauge interest. They'd at the very least get back to you. Actually, the friend who heard back yesterday took the interview on the first wednesday so the wait was 12 days meaning they might just be taking long.
Did you send an email asking when you might hear back?

Tomorrow and Friday. Any idea how many people are being interviewed a round? If even a few TLSers are getting interviews that must mean somewhere between a dozen and two dozen of the total applicant pool are, right? Can't imagine they're making use of their waitlist to that extent.Tekrul wrote:Congrats! What days are the interviews this time? Would I be right to presume, based on this thread, that it is more a conversation about the applicant and less a YP conversation?
Obligatory Michael Corleone Part III reference goes here.

Hard to say. You seem to be an anomaly. They haven't even made second reserve announcements yet. It all seems out of order.
I would say its safe to assume that, yes. But more of one thing and less of another still includes both.

This may be naive, but are people receiving notification about whether or not they're being accepted from the reserve via email or regular mail?

Re: Beating the odds: Columbia Reserve c/o 2016
LSN is reporting two people who got off the reserve last week, one's a splitter and one isn't. Does that make six total thus far, or am I double counting?
For whoever may find it useful, I'm a splitter (non-URM). Has the interview group been mostly splitters thus far? Have any interviewees waited for more than two weeks to hear word back?
I feel like there definitely should have been more people hearing about now, because the Harvard waitlist movement was pretty strong. If there were ever time for a wave, it would be this week or next. I assume this means second reserve is coming a little later this year, like maybe in a week or two.

Re: Beating the odds: Columbia Reserve c/o 2016
My sense is that people being interviewed from Reserve so far have been splitters (high LSAT, low GPA). I come to this conclusion because a few people on this thread describe being asked to explain a low GPA in their phone interview. Of course, this is only speculation. No one can be totally sure as to what rhyme or reason goes into admitting Reserve candidates.

High lsat low gpa splitters, non urm sounds about right.
No rhyme or reason also sounds about right.
I didn't report to lsn but you may have double counted the two other tls'ers who got in last week.
The longest wait I've heard of from last interview round is my friend's friend at 12 days.

Did anyone else just get an email from cls saying that they are being kept on reserve? The letter asked that I get in touch with them by June 24 to let them know whether or not I want to stay on reserve. seemed to be a pretty standard letter.

Still on. Seems like they are going to keep a ton of us on this reserve list.

I still haven't heard back after my interview, and I didn't get the invitation to stay on reserve... Not sure what to make of this, but it doesn't look too good.bincognito wrote:yes. staying on. do they kick a lot of people off the waitlist?

I didn't get the request either. Not terribly surprised :/

They haven't responded to my email asking whether they could call me at my apartment, which I sent 24 hours ago, for an interview that is supposedly tomorrow or Friday.ht2988 wrote:I still haven't heard back after my interview, and I didn't get the invitation to stay on reserve... And I didn't get any reserve email either. Should I be freaking out?

I think we're in two separate boats here... They took a few days to schedule my interview after I responded with my availability, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I - on the other hand - am losing any last glimmer of hope... Oh well, it was a long shot from the beginning, and I'm grateful to have made it this far. Best of luck in your interview. It looks like everyone else who had one ended up getting in, so early congratsMonochromatic Oeuvre wrote:They haven't responded to my email asking whether they could call me at my apartment, which I sent 24 hours ago, for an interview that is supposedly tomorrow or Friday.ht2988 wrote:I still haven't heard back after my interview, and I didn't get the invitation to stay on reserve... Re: Beating the odds: Columbia Reserve c/o 2016
The parallel I was drawing was this: They were obviously at least considering both of us, and I know they didn't reject me between yesterday, when they sent me an interview invite, and today. So not getting the reserve email doesn't mean you were dinged.ht2988 wrote:I think we're in two separate boats here...
