Re: Held at Northwestern 2016
I was admitted today!! I wasn't ever held, I just submitted my app on 4/16 bc I had been wait listed for the jd/MBA program. Super excited but have a tough decision to make over the next couple days. The letter said the deposit deadline was April 30 lol so I had to email to ask when the real deadline is, but haven't hear back yet. Just thought id let you guys know they're alive over there!

They were accepting apps up until 4/16? That's kinda late.

Re: Held at Northwestern 2016
I applied to the jd/MBA program (admissions run by the MBA program) on jan 3, was notified I was wait listed on march 20th, and asked NU law if I could ride the jd/MBA WL for 1 decision cycle. They said sure no problem, so when I found out on apr 16 I was still wait listed, Kellogg forwarded my Jd-MBA app to NU law and I sent in my lsdas report on 4/19. So they knew I was in the pipelinepammie0415 wrote:They were accepting apps up until 4/16? That's kinda late.

Ohh i see. Congrats on the acceptance though! And best of luck with the w/l. It means you'll be at NU either way!

Sadly you can't be in both processes at the same time, so I withdrew from the JD/MBA WL in order to apply to the law schoolpammie0415 wrote:HawkeyeGirl wrote:I applied to the jd/MBA program (admissions run by the MBA program) on jan 3, was notified I was wait listed on march 20th, and asked NU law if I could ride the jd/MBA WL for 1 decision cycle. I wonder if there is scholarship money left over for held applicants who are admitted. Though I can't imagine that with this level of ambivalence towards us remaining waiters they'd be throwing $$$ even if they had plenty.

Re: Held at Northwestern 2016
Probably not from what I've heard. If you're waitlisted it becomes a game if who can stomach the cost without any scholarships and who will give up other packages for the sake of a T-14. My friend was waitlisted and got in days before school started but received no aid. She had to live in a hotel for a while even. Just depends what's right for you and when that time comes I guess.Purplebook wrote:I wonder if there is scholarship money left over for held applicants who are admitted. And of course....
We must be waitlisted first.

Pretty sure he subtly promised a rejection for anyone on hold named Amir too.

Saw that the other day. This tweet alone makes me want to ride out the waitlist if I am waitlisted.

People have definitely been waitlisted (me, for example), but I was never held. Not sure if any holds have been waitlisted.Magnalum wrote:I don't think so. Has anyone been waitlists yet?rosietheriveter wrote:Is there a wait list thread this year?

Re: Held at Northwestern 2016
received an email saying that they're clearing up their database and since they have not heard from me since the hold decision, they are going to kick me out unless i tell them otherwise.
fact is i just sent in a LOCI a couple of weeks ago. but that is not the point. point is they are finally doing something with the held applicants.

Still though, doesn't mean a whole lot (besides its providing us with yet another example of much Northwestern's admissions sucks, of course)omegaomega wrote:received an email saying that they're clearing up their database and since they have not heard from me since the hold decision, they are going to kick me out unless i tell them otherwise.

Re: Held at Northwestern 2016
I am just sad that someone there wouldn't say, "come on, these people applied on time, and though we want to get the best class possible, we should also give them a timely decision." I feel that telling us on even April 30th would have been completely okay, but it's now almost June.

Four Score and Seven Years ago...I applied to Northwestern Law School
First school I applied to, last to school to hear from (I'm not counting my two holds as "decisions")

"Free Beer Tomorrow" is an expression. I was using it because I feel like every week NU says hold decisions next week...pammie0415 wrote:onmyway wrote:Hey guys!
