Hopefully I see a lot of movement next week. The seat deposit deadline is coming up.
Best of luck with your decisions!

Thanks, I'm starting to pull away from LSU. I still haven't heard anything from them and it's been two weeks. Another dean and I have remained in contact over the past few weeks from another school I've been accepted to and is making me sway towards his school.
Guess we'll find out this week! Good luck to everyone

I'm going down for the cocktail party and visitors day this weekend, going to check out the living situations...just read all the previous stuff on the apartments in this thread.
University Edge sounds great( especially brand new haha), southgate towers looks amazing but is def the most expensive option from what I've seen so far.
Besides the cottages what else are the best places to live near campus, and not on the north end?

Skip Southgate towers. Don't even bother looking. They don't even have apts available for fall as of now.
When I go for the scholly dinner I'm going to look at indigo park, oakbrook village, and a couple others I can't remember.. So far I love the cottages though. Wish I could find a roommate for the two two cottage. It's really nice and much more affordable.

Just found out that I received a 25% tuition scholarship, but I have not yet heard anything about the scholarship dinner. Is that only for endowed scholarship recipients?

No I think it's for all scholarship recipients. You'll probably receive an invite shortly! Congrats!claresan wrote:Just found out that I received a 25% tuition scholarship, but I have not yet heard anything about the scholarship dinner. Is that only for endowed scholarship recipients?

From what i've heard down here about University Edge, it is nice but they built it in a very sketchy area. It is on the north side of campus but they are suppose to have 24 hour security at it. I think the reason they built it there is because over the next fews years LSU and Baton Rouge city government are planning major renovations to the North part of campus between the school and downtown.Mj23la wrote:I'm going down for the cocktail party and visitors day this weekend, going to check out the living situations...just read all the previous stuff on the apartments in this thread.

I believe your right about the location of university edge.
I'm starting to lean more towards furnished and closest to campus no matter the cost at this point

For furnished and close to campus, the cottages, the woodlands, or U-Club Cottages on River Road (formerly called Aspen Heights) are probably going to be your best bet.Mj23la wrote:I believe your right about the location of university edge.

Yup, they waived out of state for me, with a top 1/3 stipulation. That stipulation is pretty rough though. I am starting to get the feeling that LSU section stacks since a lot of people that I've talked to have stipulations on their scholarships.Toshiba31 wrote:For anyone newly admitted join our Fb page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/5996432 ... 7/?fref=ts

Thanks! I was actually about to write an LOCI last night, then I got distracted haha. So, no I didn't send any additional materials. I was on the wait list for about a month though.lmf1218 wrote:Congratulations! I have a question.. It's a serious contender! I'm from VA so I'm waiting to hear back from Richmond before I make my final decision.ashleydy10 wrote:sn1000 wrote:In via e-mail off the wait list!

original offer was half of out of state with a top 67% stipulation, now it's all of out of state with a top 1/3 stipulation.

Lol I applied to Richmond too! I withdrew before I heard back bc I decided on lsu. Can't justify Richmond at private school price over lsu's scholly offer. ...but godd Richmond's campus is so beautiful! And th faculty is truly personal. Best of luck with that! Keep us posted.sn1000 wrote:Thanks! I was actually about to write an LOCI last night, then I got distracted haha. So, no I didn't send any additional materials. Re: LSU C/O 2016
A little late on the conversation, but just starting to consider LSU as a contender. Already accepted, of course.
I was talking to my friend who goes there, and she said that a lot of people in her class used the admitted students facebook group to find roommates, since living in a 1 br is so much more expensive than living in a 2, 3, or 4 br. So that's an idea, for those of you whom would like a few more options.
