Just writing to let the other low GPA-ers out there know that there is hope. I had three years WE as a military officer and some decent letters of rec, so it looks like they do pay attention to the softs.

Also- did the interview. My interviewer was great and I think that was another thing that helped.
This makes me happy :D

Congrats!

Has anyone else been SERIOUSLY won over by Vandy? I was always excited about applying, but the more I learn about it (first researching the site, then alumni interview, now the acceptance package), the more I could really see myself there. Could also be because they're only the 2nd school to admit me so far and the first really "awesome" package I've received.

Vandy has definitely moved up on my list since I started my application process. I think it's a really good fit for me, now that I've done some research and completed an alumni interview.

Yup. Same here. I'm excited to learn more about it at ASW.

I think Vandy's alumni have really done a bang up job at selling their alma mater which I suppose is a testament to the type of school community it is. It really makes it seems like even though it's not a T-14, it's a school that you could really enjoy your time at.

Vandy wasn't initially one of my top picks, but after my interview and some further reflection it has become one of them. It's in my region and its one of the only top law schools that actually has graduates in the city I live in.

Splitters take note:

Accepted today via email w/ a 169, 3.16 GPA!!!

Sent: 12/4; Complete: 12/6.

I'm going to read that letter a few more times to make sure this is real.

If you're applying for the Law Scholars Merit Awards, the deadline is January 10th. It's a great deal--full tuition & $5k stipend each year and seems like they give out a few of them.

My interviewer asked me what other schools I applied to, I told him I got in to Duke and he got all excited, then spent a couple minutes explaining how awesome it would be to go to Duke. I actually had to stear him back to talking about Vandy. At the end of the interview he said "Dude, go to Duke." I took that as a bad sign.

It's a good school, Nashville seems really cool and I loved the black box. I am a little worried that it would be a lot like high school. Seems like it would be a great fit for someone who loved the Greek lifestyle in college. As both an old and a lame I don't know if it's for me. But I'm looking forward to checking it out at ASW and will keep an open mind.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
