Pardon my typo, I def meant 11/10.amc987 wrote:Berkeley must hate me then, because I submitted the same day as you EMZE. But I didn't go complete until 11/10. Oy. Well, on the bright side, I guess it shouldn't be too long then.EMZE wrote:+1FryBreadPower wrote:Under Review

Damn frybread, I remember I was about to get my Berkeley slip in last week when you were talking about it, and you're already UR. Really gotta get to Berkley, Chicago and NYU. I would like the schools making decisions before thanksgiving -_-.FryBreadPower wrote:Under Review

Yeah I was super surprised by it too. I've looked at LSN to see when people usually get their decisions after going complete around the same time (honestly it's all over the place, from two weeks after going complete to March-ish). Thank you too; good luck to you too. Guess we will just have to keep our fingers crossed.hyakku wrote:Damn frybread, I remember I was about to get my Berkeley slip in last week when you were talking about it, and you're already UR. What do you guys think is considered the "first batch" at Berkeley? Would I still make it in? Applied 10/25 and went complete 10/27.

Will it reflect badly on me if I don't submit a resume? My resume is o.k., nothing great. I'd rather not submit it, since I seem very average.

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hey, real quick for any other urms applying to Berkeley, did you make your ps four pages and still go around 2 pages for the DS? My ps as it is is like two pages, as is my DS. I was thinking about slightly tailoring them for Berkeley, but for the most part I think they are really solid for Berkeley, and outside of Michigan / Columbia, Berkeley/Chi/NYU are close runner ups, so id really to make my apps as strong as possible. Search is giving me some conflicting results.

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My PS was about three pages and my DS was two pages, only thing I changed was making my PS a little longer than at other schools. I think if you can tailor it, do it, you lose nothing by giving it your best right?hyakku wrote:Hey, real quick for any other urms applying to Berkeley, did you make your ps four pages and still go around 2 pages for the DS? Oh my. I was just going through my submitted app on LSAC and I saw that I had sent Berkeley my Northwestern Personal Statement. I nearly had a HEART attack. I was freaking out and was thinking now I'm never going to get into Berkeley! Then I realised the app open was the Northwestern one. Most terrifying 2 minutes of my life.

I might have literally died in that situation. For christ's sake, I freaked out when I realized my header font was 12pt despite my statement being 11pt font. #TLSfreakoutsfingerscrossedxx wrote:Oh my. You have an opportunity to provide more information about yourself and you don't take it? What else can an AdComm assume but A. you don't have anything impressive to put on a resume and/or B. You are just too lazy to put the 1 or 2 hours into putting a resume together?moshid wrote:this is my intution. anyone else care to comment?Curious1 wrote:Yes, it will reflect badly on you.moshid wrote:Will it reflect badly on me if I don't submit a resume? Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Since Berkeley offers 4 pages for the PS, and in an interview with dean Tom he explicity said how that is an opportunity to let the school know more about you, it absolutely seems like they care to gain an all around picture of the applicant. If your resume is not suitable, it just needs more work to expound upon who you are. The resume is a place to sell yourself, and you should be able to at least craft it to speak to your abilities. You may just need someone to look it over and offer suggestions on how to bolster it. PM me if you need a set of eyes to check it out or want to see mine.FryBreadPower wrote:You have an opportunity to provide more information about yourself and you don't take it? I tinkered with my resume some after turning my application in (made the resume look better by adding a few modifiers and capitalizing certain words). My application just went "under review". Can I send in a new version of the resume, or would that be useless (or foolish)?

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Does anyone have any experiences soliciting a need based waiver from Berkeley? I asked about Merit but they said they don't give them by request, and their need based form is for TFA or Americorps people unlss you have an LSAC fee waiver. However, they claim if their are circumstances that make it difficult to apply to let them know with some supporting docs. I sent them in a day or two ago and just want to gauge if I should try to wait for a response or pay soon. The only real reason I'm waiting is because I'm hoping either Berkeley or Uchi will give me a waiver as they are my last two top schools I want to apply too and I'm running out of money with rent, insurance and bills -_-.

My request was unsuccessful, but they took like, 2 weeks with it. Just call them and ask when you can expect to hear back.hyakku wrote:Does anyone have any experiences soliciting a need based waiver from Berkeley? Screw it, I'm going to use tonight, and potentially tomorrow to perfect my essays even more, and if I haven't heard anything by Friday morning at the latest I think I'll just pay for berkeley. It looks like Chicago might be able to be held off another week or so in comparison to Berks with my low GPA.addy11 wrote:My request was unsuccessful, but they took like, 2 weeks with it. Historically, when does B start admitting RD applicants?

LSN for last year would seem to imply that the first batch is coming very soon.gatorlaw wrote:Historically, when does B start admitting RD applicants?

Same here! I called back in late September and they said that they were having major technical difficulties uploading applications and would maybe put off making first decisions until December or even January. However, they started reviewing applications around the same time that they did last year so hopefully everything got worked out and they're on a normal schedule again.freestallion wrote:Maybe on Monday? Wow I'm so grateful right now, Berkeley just granted my fee waiver request. Submitting after a few more adjustments to my PS, good luck this cycle all.
