We have a winner!!

Like I said, they still didn't scoff at me or escort me out, so that's a good sign, right?

I actually went to the College of Charleston. Definitely not conservative. I'm pretty sure our school sport was pot smoking.

Question for the Colorado residents - is Broomfield really only 20 minutes from Boulder???
just got news that String Cheese Incident is playing the Winter Carnival in Broomfield during my spring break! looks like a visit to Boulder is definitely in order

That answers my other question- if you were applying there for LS. I think it'd be intense at BYU (UG, LS, whateva) with the LDS presence. That was probably interesting! Well, here's to hoping for a complete 180 at CUdeja wrote:Lol - no. Very little - it was just one of the first that came up on Google. Yes. I work in Broomfield and it's about 15 min to Boulder (depending on traffic on 36 and how fast your driveenvironmentallaw wrote:Question for the Colorado residents - is Broomfield really only 20 minutes from Boulder???

String Cheese plays in CO fairly regularly as well. That carnival is literally 1.5 miles from my office lol

krad - i hope i can hit you up for some ideas about housing if i ever hear back and get accepted
i'd love to live out of town but will need insider info about how to find a good cheap rental (if one exists). i have no trouble with a long commute, but i don't want to get snowed in too often!

You don't really have to worry about getting snowed in along the front range very often - most of our snow is in the mountains. When it does snow down below, it's gone in a day or two.oldhippie wrote:krad - i hope i can hit you up for some ideas about housing if i ever hear back and get acceptedi'd love to live out of town but will need insider info about how to find a good cheap rental (if one exists). i have no trouble with a long commute, but i don't want to get snowed in too often!
As for cheap living, you can find some stuff in Boulder, but I think a lot of people look to Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, and Broomfield for cheaper living. Hell, I live in NE Denver, and I have some 1L neighbors that bus it up to Boulder everyday!

Amen to that. We'll call it "educational diversification."krad wrote: That answers my other question- if you were applying there for LS. I think it'd be intense at BYU (UG, LS, whateva) with the LDS presence. That was probably interesting! Well, here's to hoping for a complete 180 at CU
I thought about BYU law (I actually applied because it's pretty portable and cheap for schools in that range), but Boulder beats it hands down.

Yup, which is why CO winters are spoiling this FL baby! Except this last storm, I can't believe there's still some snow on the ground a week later, bananas.fundamentallybroken wrote: You don't really have to worry about getting snowed in along the front range very often - most of our snow is in the mountains. I live just north of City Park in Denver. We're right on a bus line that goes downtown (and, in the summer, bike riding distance), so my 1L neighbors can jump on the bus and transfer downtown to the Boulder bus. Also, not sure if CU does this, but local unis also get their students RTD passes, so it's free!

Re: CU Boulder 2011
Well got the Dec. LSAT score back, not what I was hoping for to say the least. I actually did one point worse. I guess my question is how do you guys feel my chances are getting in at Boulder with my current scores and stuff? Do you think I need to retake the exam? My practice test average was 165.
Here is what I consider important admissions material for various reasons like diversity and such. Let me know what you think, do I have a shot? Any advice/experience is appreciated.
LSAT: Oct. 161 Dec. 160.
GPA: 3.70
Applying for dual MS/JD degree (maybe this helps?)
Undergrad Major: Chemistry (not typical applicant major, helps?)
Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.

I'm also a relectant under represented minority (relectant, because I hate using it to get ahead) and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
RPCV status may help, even if you don't use the URM status. My wife is an RPCV, where'd you serve?

What URM? If AA/MA/NA definitely use it, people use it to all heck to get into LS. If I could, I would. If I were one of the above I'd have a shot at any T-14, many with $ptblazer wrote:Well got the Dec. LSAT score back, not what I was hoping for to say the least. I actually did one point worse.
