I figure it's probably pretty common, but was just wondering. Mine was from the Assistant Dean and he wrote, "Excellent motivation and leadership." Anyone else receive something similar?
Mine said "Chris - Your interest in Intellectual Property will be perfect for our Business and Law Program." or something like that.

So assuming I remain top 1/3, my col would be my only expense. My numbers are 169 3.83, so you may get some money, but I'd check past cycles on Lsn.
I was a bit curious about the stipulation as the only other scholarship offer I got with similar stipulations was from w& m where I'd have to keep a b average. Otherwise, my offers at uiuc, Texas, and saint Thomas only require good academic standing.
I hope people don't think I'm complaint, it's just something I'll have to think about since it's not guaranteed.
Got the same letter in the mail today!
Congrats! What are your numbers?
Thanks! 169, 3.52

What's the typical turn around time for Iowa? I've been UR for two weeks and am wondering how much longer I should expect to wait.

From what I've heard it's usually around a week, but those were peeps with really solid numbers. It could be longer for those who aren't shoe ins, which means I''l probably be waiting a while too.

I wonder why I seem to be taking longer... My numbers are pretty good for Iowa.

I've been in review since the 2nd. I'm definitely not an auto-admit but I am still hoping to hear something this week.

My app was completed on 11/18 and I was accepted on 12/6. You should be hearing soon.

When I spoke with a couple of the professors at their prospective student days in September, they were a little surprised that it was my intention to remain in Iowa after graduation if I was accepted. All of the data of which I am aware suggests that staying in Iowa is not really the normal path for Iowa graduates just as the majority of Iowa law students are not Iowans.

I'm still "In Review" as of 2 Dec. Not sure if that's better or worse than an updated date....

good luck spinoza. totally unrelated to iowa: i noticed your interest in the law-phil program at illinois; my roommate and fellow philosopher from undergrad just started his phd there this year and is loving it. next semester he's taking courses on kant's moral theory, 'the critique', and a nietzsche seminar. Crapola, what is a preliminary waitlist? Is it hard to get off?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
