Dunno about that. I'm definitely in the middle ground and I've been under review since 10/20.

Hmm I'm in the middle ground too. Also 10/20. Are the 10/20 people all in the middle pile? :|

I sent an email to the law.moreinfo@ nyu.edu address about a clarification on my application and haven't received any reply back. Should I be worried that they haven't received this email?

+1
I'm also wondering this... Has anyone changed to anything after Processing?

I sent an email to them and they got back to me in a day saying they got my update and added it to my file.
When did you send? If you send Thursday or Friday, I wouldnt worry (since they may have been closed yesterday).

Does anyone know if NYU puts a little less weight on the LSAT than Columbia does? And does anyone know what their median LSAT is these days? TLS only has the numbers from 2008 which look significantly lower than what NYU reports now.

As compared to what? gpa? softs?

Median for this year's incoming class was 172.

Well I guess in comparison to GPA, especially from a favorable school to NYU. But I just meant in comparison to how Columbia has started to raise their LSAT scores.

Okay, thanks. I sent it late Thursday night, so I guess I'm going to I'll try to hold off the worrying until Monday.

Here are stats from the class of 2013 (top) and 2012 (bottom). Both median AND 75th LSAT rose, so it looks as though they are weighting LSAT more (but not at the expense of GPA, which didn't move.)

3.6 / 3.71 / 3.9
169 / 172 / 175

3.6 / 3.72 / 3.9
169 / 171 / 173

Note: these numbers are all from this thread.

Thanks! That's not good for me! At median last year and 1 point below this year! But almost at 75th for gpa. I guess we'll see how it goes. December 1-15 can't come fast enough!

I think that NYU is actually just better at controlling their medians/quartiles than CLS. For most candidates I think there's almost always a relatively greater chance of getting into NYU than CLS with the same score/gpa combo.

That's cuz CLS is clearly > NYU...........

That's because CLS has a higher yield than NYU (likely due to winning the majority of common admits), so CLS has to admit 3.1 applicants per seat vs NYU's 3.7 to end up at similar medians.

I am under review as of today, 11/15. No idea when I went complete; I don't think I looked at my NYU checker recently. The last time I saw it, I was still processing.

I went under review sometime between 8:45 Pacific and 9:45 Pacific (yes I checked an hour later). It went straight from processing to under review. That said, I am an ED applicant.

Ah well, at least I have something to do today, obsessively check my NYU status. Although I am 99% certain I'm getting a lovely rejection letter :D

I asked this on the NYU ED thread, but just to get a sense of timeline: how long did you wait from the time you submitted your application until the time you received any kind of communication from NYU? (I submitted as ED on 11/11.) Thanks -- good luck to everyone!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
